Summary of Main Responsibilities:
Provides support in meetings by typing and distributing minutes, preparing meeting materials and
arranging meeting dates/times/rooms, contacting participants, and attends meetings, as required, to
Assists in managing the President’s calendar - proactively resolving conflicts.
Proactively creates and maintains effective workflow and communications to accomplish the work of the
Maintain office filing and storage systems and keeping electronic and paper documents organized.
Assists in organizing voice mail and physical mail.
Assist the President in following up on tasks that have been committed to in meetings.
Organizes special events as required by the President which include office competitions (i.e. door
decorating or cleanest office competition.) and invitations from the President for upcoming events.
Reconciles VISA Statements to receipts for submission to the accounting clerk as per expenditure account
Completes and submits the President’s expense claims.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
All other tasks and/or duties as reasonable assigned by the President
Can get task done promptly and occasionally in short notice
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Can carry oneself professionally
Working knowledge of Brock University and BUSU services.
Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet).
Ability to resolve conflict in an effective and diplomatic manner.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with a diverse group of people.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to search out resources relevant to arising issues.
Outgoing and comfortable interacting with the public at events or when staffing the office.
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Must be a registered undergraduate student at Brock University during the term of their employment
