FIREARMS LICENSING INFORMATION
Application forms for new and renewal firearms licenses may be picked up at the Brewster
Police Facility or downloaded from the department website www.brewsterpolice.org.
Firearms License Fee Schedule for New and Renewal Applicants
License to Carry Firearms - $100.00
Firearms Identification Card - $100.00
Firearms Identification Card (under 18 years of age) - $25.00
Restricted Firearms Identification Card - $25.00
NO fee for (1) applicants 70 years of age and older; (2) active law enforcement
personnel; (3) Restricted Firearms Identification Card renewal applicants
Dealers License (including Gunsmith) - $100.00
All applicants must be a resident of Brewster and show a current Brewster address on
their Massachusetts driver’s license.
Applicants for a License to Carry Firearms must be a least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Applicants for a Firearms Identification card must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Applicants between the ages of fifteen (15) and eighteen (18) years of age may apply for
a FID or Restricted FID with the written consent of a parent or guardian.
New applicants for a License to Carry Firearms or a Firearms Identification card must
include a copy of their certification in the use of firearms or a hunter safety certificate
issued by a state certified instructor with their completed application.
Applicants should complete and return the application, together with the required safety
certificate, to the Brewster Police Department. Subsequent to that submission, you will
be contacted to schedule an appointment for processing, fingerprints and picture.
Fees as established above are to be paid by check or money order payable to the Town of
Brewster at the time of the processing appointment. NO CASH will be accepted.
Please allow approximately twelve (12) weeks for processing of applications prior to
issuance of license.
