Councillor Ana Bailão (Ward 18 Davenport)
In 2010, Ana was elected City Councillor for Ward 18 Davenport, where she is a
dynamic and energetic voice for women, low-income families and New Canadians. In
this capacity, Ana is able to continue working with community groups. As Vice-Chair of
the Planning and Growth Committee, Ana is heavily involved with promoting a city
design that serves our increasing business and residential needs.
Ana is also Chair of the Affordable Housing Committee where she is responsible for
bringing the private sector together with non-profit organizations to address Toronto's
growing demand for affordable housing. By incorporating business principals and
community activism, Ana continues to build more engaged, more prosperous and more
sustainable neighbourhoods in our City.
Jim Pimblett
Jim Pimblett is a corporate strategy consultant with extensive communications and
stakeholder relations experience. He served as Executive Assistant to then Prime Minister
Paul Martin and as Director of Parliamentary Affairs and Executive Assistant to then
Liberal Party leader Michael Ignatieff.
He was Director of Communications and Operation for the Canadian Boreal Forest
Agreement Secretariat. Mr. Pimblett is currently a management consultant with nD
Insight Corporation.
N.W. (Bud) Purves
Bud Purves is a member of several prominent Boards in Toronto involved with
community building, the environment and business and innovation. Mr. Purves has a
proven track record as a CEO at York University Development Corporation and prior to
that, as President of the CN Tower and a Senior Executive at Trizec Hahn Corporation.
Mr. Purves has a keen commitment to community. In addition to being the Chair of the
Toronto Community Housing Corporation Board, he also chairs the Property Committee
at the Centre for Addition and Mental Health and has sat on the CAMH Board for seven
years. He has also participated in the property development of University Health
Networks, Project MaRS, and the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
Alan Redway
Alan Redway, PC, QC is a lawyer and former politician. After a career in municipal
politics culminating in the role of mayor of East York, Redway was elected to
Parliament in 1984 as the Progressive Conservative Member of Parliament for York East,
now Don Valley East.
In 1989, he was appointed Minister of State for Housing, including responsibility for the
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Redway was chair of the Daily Bread Food
Bank board of directors from 1996 to 2004. In 2000, as co-chair of the group "Putting
Housing Back on the Public Agenda", he addressed the Ontario legislature's Standing
Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs, advocating against the selling off of public
housing units and for increased investment for supportive housing.
