GREATER DETROIT OLDTIMERS BOWLING ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANT
TO BE ELIGIBLE YOU MUST COMPLETE FORMS AND SUBMIT ESSAY
ELIGIBILITY RULES: Any graduating male high school senior is eligible to receive a scholarship, providing the student meets the following requirements: (a) Files an application furnished by the Scholarship Fund Committee, giving complete information as required thereon, before May 1st of any year. Applications are to be filed with the Greater Detroit Oldtimers Bowling Association. (b) Is a member in good standing of any organized league as of March 31st.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Step 1 - Fill out application entirely. Step 2 - Write an essay of at least 100 words stating your specific career advancement and future plans. Step 3 - Give your league coach or league secretary your essay, the completed application form, and a stamped envelope addressed to Greater Detroit Oldtimers Bowling Association, 25530 Van Dyke, Centerline, Mich. 48015. Step 4 - Give the school Official/Counselor’s Evaluation Sheet to one of your teachers or your school counselor along with a stamped envelope addressed to Greater Detroit Oldtimers Bowling Association, 25530 Van Dyke, Centerline, Mich. 48015. Ask your teacher or counselor to fill in the form and mail it by May 31st. Step 5 - Check with your league coach and teacher or counselor by April 30th to make sure all the application papers have been mailed. Thank them for their help and cooperation.

GREATER DETROIT OLDTIMERS BOWLING ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AND PROCEDURES
The Greater Detroit Oldtimers Bowling Association has established a program to further interest in youth bowling, foster a desire for better education for our youth, give the youth bowlers incentive to maintain their amateur status and to help enhance the image of the sport. TWO SCHOLARSHIPS: (a) Two graduating male seniors will be granted a scholarship each year. (b) The scholarships will be for $500.00. (c) The scholarships will be paid directly to the school of choice. Each student will have a certificate to show that he has been awarded the scholarship so the school is aware that the Greater Detroit Oldtimers Bowling Association will pay the $500.00 to the school. (d) The recipient must request the funds within four years of graduation. If they do not, they forfeit the scholarship. Interest will not be accrued. ELIGIBILITY AND PROCEDURES TO APPLY: (a) Any organized youth league member in good standing. (b) Graduating male senior (c) Individuals must contact their coach or the Greater Detroit Oldtimers Bowling Association, 25530 Van Dyke Centerline MI, 48015 (586-756-3240) to request application forms by mail. They will be sent along with an explanation for completion. BOARD OF TRUSTEES: (a) The board of directors of the Greater Detroit Oldtimers Bowling Association will serve as the board of trustees. (b) The Scholarship Fund Committee will review applicants and make the decision and selection.
