Job Title Recovery Substance Misuse Worker
Reports to Team Leader
Purpose of Job As directed by the service management team and in the post-holder will
contribute to all aspects of tier 2/3 service delivery.
The focus of all interventions will be:
To reduce drug related harm to the individual and wider
To promote healthier life styles and increase service user choice
To promote and support individuals into both abstinence based
and medically assisted forms of recovery
To provide effective case management and coordination
covering areas of risk, problematic behaviour, housing, social
functioning, employability, psychological and physical health.
To promote Friends & Partners carer and service user
In fulfilling these aims the post-holder will use recognised evidenced
based interventions and up to date validated information. The post-
holder will contribute to the service to ensure that substance users
consistently receive high quality services that adhere to the best practice
guidelines and achieve high professional standards. They will be
responsible for contributing to the overall performance of the service to
ensure that contractual output targets are achieved. They will also be
required to record and input client data and information in order that the
service operates within contractual, administrative and financial
requirements. The post holder will be required to work flexibly across a
number of operational sites as required and within an agreed number of
hours to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision. This
will include evening and weekend working. The post holder will be
expected to take responsibility for personal development, identifying
personal training needs and participate in regular supervision and

Provide evidence based harm reduction services.
Engaging illicit substance users from across Camden into effective, evidence based
Ensuring that all activities, and interventions are suitably recorded and in accordance
with CRI policies, procedures and national guidelines from the NTA, DoH, NICE,
NMC and as directed by the local management team
Effectively Assess, Plan and review all stages of clients treatment journey using
designated tools and within agreed timescales.
Provide recovery coaching using a broad range of person centred interventions.
Work with partnership organisations to develop and sustain effective comprehensive
treatment pathways and broaden the client’s recovery plan accordingly.
Ensure that all safeguarding issues, including child protection and protection of
vulnerable adults, are dealt with in accordance to CRI policies and procedures, and
local and national statutory requirements.
Recognise personal and professional boundaries at all times and work within CRI
clinical governance framework at all times
Always treat service users with respect and dignity.
Ensure that all data requirements are met within deadlines.
Produce evidence in monthly supervision to clearly illustrate that performance targets
are being met.
Present a professional image and actively promote the service at all times to service
users, other stakeholders, partnership organisations and the general public.
Produce relevant reports, action plans and developmental service frameworks in
response to needs of the organisation and managerial requests.
Actively participate in regular supervision and be willing to personally reflect on
interpersonal dynamics within service user relationships alongside other supervision
requirements as detailed in CRI policy.
Work within CRI’s professional development framework participating in active
learning and developing professionally, in accordance with service and organisational
requirements and current skills and abilities.
Uphold data protection legislation and only share client information as per CRI policy,
local and formally agreed information sharing protocols and client confidentiality
Regularly use IT systems including Word; Outlook; electronic case management
To utilise a flexible approach and where required participate in activities and tasks
which directly respond to client and service need.

Ensure regular consultation with service users.

To undertake any other duties as instructed by the management team that will
contribute to fulfilling the project aims.

services including NEX, Tier 2, (OSI) other structured interventions, and partnership

Keep abreast of developments in services, legislation and practice relevant to the
relevant client group.
Ensure the implementation of the all CRI policies.
Contribute to maintaining safe systems of work and a safe environment.

Demonstrable experience of direct client work, gained in a substance misuse
Demonstrate a full knowledge of Recovery and how it fits into the Recovery agenda
Comprehensive knowledge of the effects of drugs/alcohol on service users
A flexible open approach and awareness of barriers to accessing services facing hard to
Experience of working in partnership with other agencies
Ability and willingness to help develop the open access project to suit client need
Confidence to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
Understanding of the importance of upholding quality standards, performance monitoring
