PRIVACY POLICY
Taekwondo Australia Qld Branch Inc (Taekwondo Queensland) considers the privacy of
clients, individuals, members and associated organizations to be extremely important.

This privacy statement has been prepared in accordance with the Commonwealth Privacy Act
(1988), the Privacy Amendment Private Sector Act 2000 and the National Privacy Principles.
For more information on the Act and the National Privacy Principles please refer to
www.privacy.gov.au.

Taekwondo Queensland reserves the right to make changes or amendments to the
Taekwondo Queensland Privacy Policy as required by law.

1 – Collection
If Taekwondo Queensland requires any personal information, the purpose for which the
information is collected and the consequence of providing it will be made clear at the time of
the collection.

Taekwondo Queensland may use personal/health information for:-

       Activities and service provision
       Administration
       Training
       Research and development purposes

This personal information may be collected from various sources including:-

       Membership application forms
       Training application forms
       Website enquiry and website feedback sections
       Competition entry forms
       Email, mail and facsimile
       Contractors to Taekwondo Qld

Collection of personal/health information relating to children.
Taekwondo Queensland does not collect, use or disclose personal information about anyone
under the age of 18 years of age unless we have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Website
You are free to browse the Taekwondo Queensland site without entering any personal
information and therefore you can remain anonymous. At no time are “cookies” used to keep
track of your website usage. Taekwondo Queensland may, however, collect personal
information, suggestions and feedback provided by visitors.

This information and the ideas provided may be used to assist in changes or improvements to
this website or to activities. On no occasion will your name or details be published, in relation
to the website, without contacting you and gaining your permission.

If you send an email to an email address/contact person provided on this website, your
address will not be added to a mailing list and will be only used to contact you with a
response to your email. Once we have responded to your suggestion or query, your contact
information will be deleted in a secure manner.
Taekwondo Queensland website may contain links to other sites operated by other parties.
Taekwondo Queensland is not responsible for the content and the privacy practices of other
web sites and encourages users to examine each site’s privacy policy. Links may be
provided to other Internet sites as a convenience to users, and access to any other Internet
sites linked to the web site are utilised at the user’s own risk.

2 – Use & Disclosure
Taekwondo Queensland will not use personal information for any purpose other than that for
which it was collected without first seeking the individuals consent, unless authorised or
requested by law. Taekwondo Queensland takes reasonable steps to protect personal
information from loss, misuse, unauthorised disclosure or destruction.

We collect your personal information for a range of purposes related to our purposes.
Disclosure of personal and health information will be in accordance with the National Privacy
Principles.

3 – Data Quality
In instances where information is required on individuals, all efforts are made to ensure the
information is accurate, complete and up to date.

4 – Data Security
Information that may be collected on clients, individuals, members and associated
organizations will be stored securely. In the case of personal information being stored off-site
Taekwondo Queensland has in place confidentiality agreements with the archival suppliers.
All service providers will be screened to ensure they maintain security and confidentiality
requirements.

Health information will be retained for a minimum of 7 years following the last occasion on
which service was provided. Where information was collected while the individual was a
child, it shall be retained until the individual is 25 years of age, or for 7 years, which ever is
the greater.

5 – Openness
The Privacy Policy is available on request.

We are open about the type of personal information held and how it is used.

6 – Access & Correction
On the occasions that personal information is kept, the individual concerned is entitled to
have access to that record. The only exception being where we are required to deny access
because providing access would be unlawful or not within the realms of the legislation.

We reserve the right to take reasonable steps to confirm that the person seeking access to
the information is the person to whom the information relates, or is otherwise entitled to
access the data. Taekwondo Queensland is committed to responding and processing your
access request promptly. We may charge an administrative fee for the provision of this
information to cover costs in instances where there is an archival charge involved to obtain
the information you have requested. You will be informed of any fee at the time a request is
made.

Health information collected by Taekwondo Queensland will not be deleted. Health
information in collected in relation to specific competition participation or participation in
training sessions. This information is taken as relating to the relevant competition or training
session or group of sessions only and is not considered to be a permanent file. Health
information in relation to state or regional training participation must be advised annually by
the participant.

7 – Identifiers
Taekwondo Queensland may be required to collect an individual’s identifier (such as a Tax
File Number) for the provision of services. These identifiers will only be disclosed to agencies
as required by law.

8 – Anonymity
Individuals who wish to gather information via telephone or by visiting our website whilst
staying anonymous are welcome to do so provided the disclosure of information requested
does not involve personal information. In such cases it will be necessary to verify that the
person seeking access to the information is the person to whom the information relates, or is
otherwise entitled to access the data.

9 – Transborder Flows
Personal information is not normally transferred interstate or overseas. Any information
passed interstate or overseas will be done within guidelines outlined to the individual at the
time of the data collection or with their individual consent.

10 – Sensitive Information
Where Taekwondo Queensland is required to collect sensitive information on an individual,
this information will be collected only with the member’s consent and only transferred to other
parties as outlined at the time of collection.

Collection of sensitive information such as religion, gender, disability, languages spoken,
criminal records will only occur when the individual has consented or law requires the
collection.

you, you should contact us. We may be able to assist you with this problem over the phone,
