                                      FIRST CALL FOR PAPER S

   Please diarise the dates of the 13th Annual Conference of the AES, as well as the following
important information:

    The 2008 Conference will take place on the campus of The University of Pretoria next year, and
be organised by the School of Economic Sciences.

    The closing dates for abstracts will be around April 4th 2008, while full conference papers will be
due on June 6th 2008. Further information will follow in the Second Call for Papers.

    The University of Pretoria will host the 13th Annual Conference as part of its centennial
celebrations in 2008, with two very prominent keynote speakers coming. They are Badi Baltagi and
Hashem Pesaran.

     Badi Baltagi is professor of Economics at Syracuse University, and associate editor of the Journal
of Econometrics. He also serves on editorial boards of many other distinguished econometrics journals.
He is well-known for his work on Panel Data Econometrics, and is considered to be a world leader
in this field.

    Hashem Pesaran is professor of Economics and fellow of the Trinity College at the University of
Cambridge. He is associate editor of Econometrica as well as the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control
and also an editorial board member of many other journals. He is very well-known for his work in
Time series Econometrics.
