APPROVAL OF THE PREVIOUS MINUTES Motion to approve minutes of the May 7, 2008 Annual General Meeting as tabled was moved by Joni Newman and seconded by Shannon Morrow. Motion carried. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE PREVIOUS MINUTES MCA will begin to upgrade Christmas lights to LCD starting next year. There have been no complaints about the paintball activity across from the North Field. PRESIDENT’S REPORT Mario expressed disappointment in general lack of interest in MCA business Munster Green Day activities went well Munster Patio is upcoming on June 21, 2008 Munster community pool is something that incoming MCA should look into More volunteers are needed to help with Community Centre expansion activities Operation “Clean Sweep” is run by the City in the fall as well as the spring. We should organize a Munster fall cleanup day in addition to the spring one. TREASURER’S REPORT MCA no longer must pay for phone at the community centre. This is worth about $1000 per year. Treasurer tabled MCA financial position for the year ending March 31, 2008, (detailed financial statement on separate document). Financial Summary General account balance: $ 1,233.98 Rink account balance: $ 8,826.53 Youth account balance: $ 817.03 Community Centre account balance: $ 2,925.69 Overall balance: $ 13,803.14 Munster Winter Carnival operated at a loss $146.08 Rideau Carleton Raceway Day operated at a loss of $18.53 VICE-PRESIDENT’S REPORT – no report MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR’S REPORT Paul Spafford volunteered to do the data base management activity only Shannon had difficult time finding quadrant reps Membership Director is an essential position MCA should look at on-line membership renewals (especially for rural members) SOCIAL DIRECTORS’ REPORT May 9, 2007 garage sale was successful with over 30 homes participating. Definitely should be done this year and next. Munster Summer Social (Raceway Day) on June 15, 2007 had a good turnout with 60 people participating. Santa visit was very poor as only 6 families turned up at the community centre. Munster Winter Carnival was a great success. Pancake breakfast, chili cook-off, family skate, bonfire & hot chocolate, Munster Idol, Dr. Kaboom magic show, games & races run by City, games and crafts in school gym were highlights. MCA will get a stage from Cavanaugh for live band for the Patio Party (June 21, 2008). Some discussion concerning a shelter against the elements for the Patio Party took place. MOTION Motion to purchase a used tent/shelter and to rent another for the patio party was moved by Joni Newman and seconded by Joy Price. Motion carried. COMMUNICATION DIRECTOR’S REPORT – no report RECREATION DIRECTORS’ REPORT John & Ian reported a very challenging year to maintain the rink. They had little help and poor cooperation. Something needs to be done to cleanup as the state of disorder is too severe for activities by groups during the week. MOTION Motion to hire a cleaner for $10 (if possible) to clean Community Centre for Monday morning was moved by Joy Price and seconded by Brian Gray. Motion carried. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn meeting at 9:05 pm was moved by Brian Gray and seconded by John Hale. Motion carried.
