FOREWORD
The Internet Marketing world is a daunting world indeed. I remember when I started out, I couldn't tell
which way was up or down. There was so much information floating around that I didn't even know
where to begin. After years of gathering an absurd amount of information and many failed attempts,
something finally clicked. I finally understood how to be successful. It's now time to share with you
what I have learned throughout the years.

Where am I today? Today I own hundreds of successful websites and am raking in THOUSANDS of
dollars per month! I sometimes wonder how I have gotten to where I am today. One thing is for sure, I
would never have been able to make it this far if it wasn't for those who helped guide me along my
journey. I am in no way an internet marketing “guru” and I will never claim to be one. This world is
ever revolving and ever changing. There is always something new to learn.

Why am I doing this? To give back! In hopes of helping some other lost souls, wandering the streets of
IM and wondering where to start and how finally open the door to a successful online career. This is
not a get rich quick scheme. If you are looking to become a millionaire over night, this isn't the guide
for you. This method will take a lot of work. It may even seem futile at first. I know I felt like quitting
when I started. It just seemed like I had put so much time and effort into my projects and wasn't
profiting at all. All I can say is that I'm glad I listened to those who told me to hang in there. Those who
told me never to say die, never give up and never ever quit.

This guide is intended for those who are just starting out in Internet Marketing (newbies) and are
wondering how to get their feet wet. Those of you who have been around the block may also find some
nice little nuggets of information to further assist you along your way.

I will cover absolutely everything you need to know to start making money online. The process goes as
follows: researching a profitable keyword, buying a domain name, choosing a web host, creating your
website, choosing a great template, adding content to your website, adding profitable ads for maximum
revenue, backlinking, promoting and ranking your website to increase visibility and popularity! This is
an ALL IN ONE SOLUTION.

How much can you expect to make? The process is a slow one at first, however, once you get rolling,
your earnings will start snowballing in and will gain momentum with every passing day. If you follow
this guide exactly, you can expect to make about $25 in your first month, $75 in your second month,
$150 in your third month, and so on and so on until you are making THOUSANDS per month. Don't
get discouraged if at first your earnings seem low. If you follow this guide, you WILL make money,
and things WILL get better. It just takes a bit of time. These numbers are based on very little initial
investment. If you have a ton of money to invest, you can jump directly to making the big bucks!

This guide will focus on the method of building small websites targeting popular keywords and phrases
using Wordpress. (If you do not know what this means yet, don't fret, this guide will explain
everything.) You will notice that there are a few affiliate links in this book. Keep in mind that I have
spent many days/months putting all this information together and am giving this ebook away for
practically nothing. Please show your thanks and support by using the links in this guide.

My suggestion: read this guide in it's entirety in order to get comfortable with the method. Once you
have read it and understand it, go over it again and take action! Are you ready? On we go!

                                                                                                     Page 4

STEP 1: Keyword Research
Every website starts with an idea. A great website starts with a GREAT idea. A great idea is also one of
the most important parts to creating your website. How do you get this idea? It's easy, you “cheat”.
There's no point in re-inventing the wheel. Millions of people use the internet every day. All you need
to do is find out exactly what they are looking for. Think about it, if you could build a website around
EXACTLY what people are searching for, then you would be ahead of the game already. You don't
need to create any interest, the interest is already there for you to harness!
How do you find out what people are searching for? There are a few ways and a few tools available to
do exactly that! Some tools are paid tools, which will make your life easier in the long run. However, if
you are just starting out, you can even research these keywords for free! I will show you both methods,
but will focus on the free methods as I do not want to push products on people and also want to show
that it is possible to achieve success with very little investment.. That being said, if you really want a
leg up on your competition, I highly recommend taking a look at the paid products. They will give you
a significant advantage, save you countless hours of hard work, and overall make your life much easier.
Let's begin.

Research:
Keyword Scout is the tool I personally use when researching these niche sites. I cannot say enough
good things about this incredible software. It does everything you need and then some. It completely
takes the guesswork out of keyword research and shows you exactly what will be profitable and which
keywords will be more difficult to succeed with. This tool will more than pay for itself just with the
high quality keywords you will be extracting from it. In fact, you can even make money on the side
using Keyword Scout alone! If ever I need an extra boost, I offer a service to provide people with the
highly profitable keywords that this tool gathers for me. I can make $50 a day, just selling keywords to
people! If you are serious about succeeding, I highly recommend you have a look at this fantastic tool.
Manual keyword research can take hours. This tool literally takes out all of the guess work. Check out
their website HERE.

Ultimate Niche Finder is another keyword research tool. It will do everything from finding profitable
keywords with available domains as well as analyze competition to make sure your website will be
easy to rank. It is very much like Keyword Scout. You can also use this software to sell keywords on
the side. I actually have a copy of both tools and whenever I start the process to launch a new site, I
consult both tools until I find a great keyword I want to build around. I would definitely be lost without
these tools. Take a look at what Ultimate Niche Finder offers HERE.

If you don't have the money to invest in a professional tool like Keyword Scout, but don't feel
comfortable enough to do the keyword research yourself, Fiverr is a great place to buy some great
keywords for cheap. Just hop on the site and search for “emd keywords”, “keyword research”, etc...
You should find a few people offering great EMD keywords for only $5 each. (remember how I said
you can sell the keywords you get from the tools. Fiverr is a great place to do just that).

                                                                                                   Page 6
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
Google Adwords is is how I got my start. It's free, it's easy and it's reliable! If you haven't gotten one of
the tools listed above, this is the next best thing. I have outlined below all the steps required to finding a
profitable keyword all on your own. All you need to do is create an account. If you don't already have
an account, CLICK HERE to get started. Once you have created and account have have signed in to
Google Adwords, simply click on Tools and Analysis > Keyword Tool. Bingo! You're ready to go.
There really is no specific way to finding a good keyword, you just basically type in whatever comes to
mind and hope you get lucky ;)

That being said, there are a few things that are very important to do in order to make sure you don't
pick a dud of a keyword. Click on Advanced Options And Features and make sure you add the
following criteria:

   1) Location: I always use US. They generally have the highest paying ads and mostly have the
most amount of searches per month. Basically, if your site succeeds in the US, then it will rank
elsewhere without much intervention. UK is also a popular choice if you are comfortable
      ranking on google.co.uk.
   2) Desktop And Laptop Devices: I always select this. Basically, I want to make sure this site is
popular for people sitting at a computer and not a mobile or tablet specific niche. Mobile
devices often register invalid clicks as people tend to click on the ads by mistake when trying to
re-size their windows or move around on the site.
   3) Local Monthly Searches > 1000: Anything under 1000 searches per month won't make you any
money. Don't even bother. My best keywords are usually between 2000-5000 local monthly
searches. However, I have plenty of really popular sites with 1000 local searches per month.

                                                                                                      Page 7
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
   4) Competition: I always select Medium and High. These values symbolize advertiser competition.
Basically, the more advertisers are competing on your keyword, the more your chances are of
getting a high paying click. The more competition you get, the more money you can make.
Advertisers will be fighting for placement on your site.
   5) CPC: Anything under $1 isn't worth it. Don't even try. You will be wasting an incredible amount
of time fighting for pennies. CPC is the cost per click. It's a fairly accurate indication of how
much you will make every time someone clicks on one of your ads. Keep in mind that as a
publisher, you can expect to make 65% of the value of the click.
   6) Always check the “Exact” box on the left hand side of the screen. This ensures that the results
you are looking at will be accurate for the search term entered.

Once you are ready, go ahead and hit the Search button. You should now have a list of keywords come
up for you to analyze. Try to pick some nice short keywords to build your site around. 2-4 words at the
most. Your goal here is to eventually find an Exact Match Domain. You don't want your domain name
to be too long as it looks unprofessional and doesn't give off the image of authority. Would you rather
visit a website called www.dogtraining.com or something like
www.howtotrainyourdogtodocrazytrickswhileridingaskateboard.com?
Once you have picked out a few keywords (write them down), head on over to GoDaddy.com. It's time
to check the availability for Exact Match Domains. (NOTE: You are not yet purchasing the domains.
You are simply weeding out the keywords that have available domains as to not waste your time
researching competition on unavailable keywords.) (NOTE: Even though it is not necessary to have an
exact match domain, I highly recommend it as the SEO benefits are incredible and it makes your site so
much easier to rank).
Once you are on GoDaddy, head over to the bulk domain registration tool (Click Domains > Bulk
Domain Registration). You can now enter all your gathered keywords (one per line, no spaces) and
search them for domain availability all at once! Be sure to only check off .com, .net and .org for your
domain search. Anything else will command less authority and will be harder to rank. Once you have
entered your domains, hit Go.

                                                                                                 Page 8
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
Once you hit go, you will be shown a list with all the available domains. Take note of which domains
are available and discard all the keywords that have no available domain. Now that you know which
keywords have an available domain, it's time to move on to the next step of keyword research:
analyzing your competition!

Competition Analysis
Analyzing competition is crucial to your success. You could have the greatest keyword in the world,
but if your competition to rank in the top search results for the search engines is too great, you will
have an incredibly hard time making any money, thus making this whole process worthless!
The first thing you should do is search your keyword in Google and see what comes up in the top 10
results. Your ultimate goal is to get into the top 3 search results. Anything less won't bring you enough
traffic to make this journey worthwhile. It can be pretty easy to figure out weather or not you can rank
your keywords simply by looking at the results. If the fist page of google is filled with with cheap
blogs, single articles and spammy looking sites, ranking your website is probably going to be pretty
easy. However, if you find yourself staring down the throat of Google, Facebook, Amazon or YouTube,
you might have a much more difficult time. If things aren't glaringly obvious, then there are a few steps
you can follow to take out some of the guesswork:
   1) Search your keyword in Google surrounded by quotes (“keyword”). This will show you the
total amount of competition in your niche. Anything more than 500k results should not be
touched unless you are experienced in Internet Marketing and are confident in your abilities to
rank the site. If you are brand new, I would recommend starting with something under 200k
      results.

   2) Next, search for the same keyword with the intitle: prefix. This will show you all the pages that
have your desired keyword in the page title. You should be looking for something with less than
100k results here. Anything less than 50k is great!

   3) Thirdly, search for the same keyword with the inurl: prefix. You will now see all the results that
have your specific keyword in the site's URL Again, you are looking for something under 100k
      results. Under 30k is fantastic!

                                                                                                   Page 9
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

   4) Finally, you will search for the same keyword with both the inurl: and intitle: prefixes
simultaneously. This will show you your REAL competition. In other words, the sites that have
properly optimized their pages to rank for this particular keyword and the sites you will be
directly fighting for position with. You are looking for something under 40k results if you are a
novice. Anything under 10k is gold!

   5) The final step in order to decide on a keyword is to check the results in Firefox with the SEO
Quake add on. This add on will give you a good idea how difficult it will be to beat out your
competition. Simply activate the add on and search for your keyword in Firefox. The important
things to look for are the page rank and the incoming links. A high page rank and a high amount
of incoming links will be very difficult to beat. If you are just starting out, look for something
with a PR under 4 and less than 1000 back links.

That's it! You've done your keyword research! As you can see, this process can be quite tedious and
time consuming. That is one of the main reasons I recommend you pick up a copy of Keyword Scout.
It does all the work for you! It finds the keywords, checks the EMD availability and more
importantly checks the competition for you. Basically, you can see exactly which keywords will be
the most profitable at a simple glance. It is definitely worth your time and I highly recommend you
pick up a copy.
For the purpose of this guide, and to keep on track with our earnings projection. I suggest you find 3-5
good keywords to start with. You want to build a few websites so that you don't put all your eggs in one
basket. Starting off with 3-5 websites will also allow you to become more profitable in a shorter
amount of time. Heck, you don't even need to stop at 3 or 5, get 10, 20, 50 even 100!

                                                                                                Page 10
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

STEP 2: Domain Registration
The next logical step in you quest to financial independence is to register your domain name. This is a
unique name that people will use to access your website. Buying a domain name gives the appearance
of authority and makes users feel safer browsing your site. Unfortunately, there are no free ways to
register a domain name. There are a few fully free web hosts that will host a page for you and provide
you with a free sub domain, however, I strongly advise against this. The EMD that you worked so hard
to find in the keyword research process is invaluable to this process. Take the EMD that you found in
the keyword research process and head on over to a registrar to register your domain and be on your
way to creating your money making machine!
The registrars are my personal recommendations, however, you can use whichever registrar you please.

Namecheap: This is my favourite. I use this one for pretty much all my domains. They are very
reputable. Even though they are a bit more expensive than some of the other registrars, their customer
service and ease of use is incredible. Not to mention they offer a free privacy service for new domains.
This is a must for me, as I don't like people being able to get a hold of my personal information just by
searching online. Visit Namecheap HERE

GoDaddy: Pretty much the Google of domain registration. They are the authority domain registrar.
You've seen their commercials. They have great deals. Sometimes even offering up 99 cent domains!
The only downfall with GoDaddy is the expensive privacy feature. That and I feel like they constantly
try to sell you things that you don't really need or can get for free elsewhere. However, I will never turn
my back on some of their low prices. Check them out HERE

                                                                                                   Page 11

STEP 3: Hosting

Now that you've got your brand new domain registered, it's time to start thinking about a web host. The
websites I will show you how to build will use Wordpress. When choosing a host, be sure it supports
Wordpress as well as multiple domains. You can use any host you wish. I would advise against using
any free hosts since they are usually littered with ads and are not reliable. You're not going to make any
money if your site is constantly offline and appears spammy.
As much as GoDaddy is the king of domain registration, I would stay away from them as a web host.
Their management system is very confusing and non-intuitive. It can get pretty confusing even for
seasoned internet marketers. The following web hosts are my recommendations:

HostGator: I literally use them for all my sites! They are fantastic. I've never had a single problem with
them. They offer everything under the sun for a very competitive price. Not to mention unlimited
domains. I host up to 50 sites per shared hosting plan! Their features are endless and their internal stats
are incredible. Check out HostGator HERE

HostWinds: This would be my second choice should anything happen to my HostGator accounts.
Simply because it has been recommended to me by a countless number of my IM contacts. Not to
mention they are less expensive than HostGator. However, I'm stubborn and I like keeping my setup
simple. Check them out HERE.
Once you have selected your hosting, you will need to go back to your domain registrar and updated
your DNS settings to point to your web host. You should have received all this information after
registering. If you have any problems with this, your domain registrar will be more than happy to assist
you getting set up.
What do you know? You are now the proud owner of a brand new website! Feels good doesn't it? Great
work so far! Now we get to start the fun stuff. The next step is to actually create your site!

                                                                                                   Page 12

STEP 4: Creating Your Website
This is where all your hard work and you vision will start to take on a life of it's own. There are no
limits to what you can do when you create a website. You are only bound by your imagination. For
these examples you will be building simple sites with the intention of making money from Google
Adsense ads. These sites are nothing fancy. Just 3-4 pages with 3-5 articles. I will explain everything in
detail in this section. The first few sites may take you a bit of time to put together, however, once you
get the hang of it, you will be able to put together one of these micro sites in just a few minutes.

Installing Wordpress
The first thing you will do is install Wordpress on your web host. Wordpress is a CMS (Content
Management System). It contains all the tools you need to create a professional looking website with
little or no knowledge of how creating a web page actually works. You can use any CMS you wish
(Joomla, Drupal, etc..), you can even create the website yourself if you are comfortable doing so. This
guide will focus on Wordpress, since it is the most popular CMS out there. Wordpress is also the easiest
CMS to learn, so if ever you get stuck, there is plenty of documentation available out there to help you
along the way. You can head on over to www.wordpress.org for more information.
I won't go over the installation process for Wordpress (remember what I said about re-inventing the
wheel?) . Below are a few installation guides to help you on your way. If ever you run into an issue,
you can contact your web host for assistance, or just read through their FAQ's as they will most likely
have clear instructions on how to accomplish this.

 Click HERE for the official Wordpress Installation Instructions
 If your web host has Fantastico, you can use this nice little guide. HERE

Customizing Wordpress
Even though Wordpress works right out of the box, you should still spend a bit of time tweaking it to fit
your sites needs. I have outlined a few things you should take care of as soon as your installation is
complete. Go ahead and log into your site's Admin Panel (Usually: www.yourURL.com/wp-admin/)

   1) The first thing you want to do is head over to the Settings > General section. Here you will add
the basic information for your site. Make sure you include your main keyword in your site title.
Often times, I will set the title as the keyword only. I will also use the keyword a second time in
the tag line, however, this is not necessary. Try to make the tag line catchy and/or descriptive to
your site. Set your URL (Note, whatever you put here will be the URL shown in the address bar
when people visit your site. Decide if you want it to show with or without the “www.”). Set an
email address where people can contact you.

                                                                                                  Page 13
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

   2) In Settings > Discussion, make sure you check off the options to always have comments
approved by an Administrator. Google loves comments on a blog as they make your blog seem
popular, however, you will see that most of these comments will be spam (which Google hates).
You should receive an email notification every time someone posts a comment on your site. Go
through them every once in a while to keep the real comments and get rid of the bad ones.

   3) IMPORTANT! Go over to the Permalinks settings and set your permalinks to anything other
than the default setting. I like %postname% personally. This will make your url’s much more
user friendly as well as make them keyword rich to improve your search rankings.

Now you're done configuring the vitals for your website. Go ahead and look through the rest of the
options. You can either leave them to their default values, or tweak them to fit your preferences. The
next thing you should do is clean up your blog. Wordpress comes with a few default posts, pages and
comments. Go ahead and get rid of them. Click on the Posts menu and delete the “Hello World!” post.
Then, head over to the Pages menu and Trash the Sample Page.

                                                                                               Page 14
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
Your blog should be pretty clean now. It should have no content whatsoever. The next thing you should
do is add basic content to your website. Many search engines expect to see a few standard pages on
your website. The basic pages any website should have are: About, Contact and a Privacy Policy. These
pages will boost your trust rank and make your site appear more legitimate to the average surfer. It's
always nice to know your privacy is being protected and that you have an option to contact someone if
you have any questions about the content. (Not to mention, if your site becomes popular enough, you
may even get advertisers request to advertise their products on your site. Which could be very lucrative
for you)
Let's get started! You can either create these pages yourself, or you can install a few plug ins to help
you along. (A plug in is an extra module that you can install on your website to add/improve
functionality and features). For the purpose of this guide, we will be using plug ins to create the contact
form and privacy policy.

Install The Plug Ins
In Wordpress, go to Plug ins > Add New and search for “Easy Privacy Policy”. Once you have located
it, click the “Install Now” link. Once the plug in is installed, click the “Activate Plugin” link.

Repeat the same process and install “Fast Secure Contact Form”. (A lot of people prefer “Contact Form
7”, but for the purpose of this guide, I will be showing Fast Secure Contact Form as there is virtually no
configuration to complete and it serves it's purpose perfectly for the needs of these types of sites.)

Configure “Easy Privacy Policy”
Go to Settings > Easy Privacy Policy. Skim through the information on the page really quick to make
sure it is up to par for you site and contains the correct information. Once you are satisfied, click the
“Generate Privacy Policy” link. This will create a new page on your site and you will have instantly
created a professional looking privacy policy. It's that easy!

Configure “Fast Secure Contact Form”
This is another plug in where the default values are almost perfect. Go to Plug ins > FS Contact Form
Options. The settings page looks a little daunting at first, but all the settings are already set. You will
get a nice contact page for users to enter their name, email, subject and message. That's all you need.
Go ahead and experiment with the various options if you need to, but I usually just leave this as is. The
only thing I change on this page, is I remove the check next to “Accept Meeting Requests via vCita”.

                                                                                                   Page 15
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
Once you are done configuring, click “Update Options”. If you go back to the top of the page, in the
Usage section, you will see a shorthand code for this form. A shorthand code is a little snippet that you
can place anywhere on your Wordpress site to perform certain functions. In this case, [si-contact-form
form='1'] will display the simple contact form you just created. Highlight this code and copy it.
Go to Pages > Add New. This will bring up a screen where you can add a new static page to your
website. In the Title section, type “Contact Us”. In the page body section, simply paste the shorthand
code you copied in the step above. Once you are done, click the “Publish” button at the top right of the
page. Congratulations, you have just published your first page! Go ahead and have a look. Click the
“View Page” button at the top and you should be taken to your Contact Form. Pretty neat, eh?

Create Your “About” Page
Go back to the Admin panel and click Pages > Add New. In the title section, type: “About”. In the
message body, simply type a short little blurb about your website. What year you started out, what your
mission statement is, what your goal is, etc... It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just a few words.

Presto! You now have all the pieces in place to get you profitable website started. If you are familiar
with Worpdress, you might be asking yourself why we haven't selected a theme yet. (A theme is
basically a web template that controls the look and feel of your website). The answer is simple. You
don't want to build your content around a theme. You should rather write some content, and then try to
find a theme that suits it. Once you have built a few sites, you will begin to have your favourite themes.
You will find out which perform better in certain niches, and which themes you should avoid. We will
cover themes after we go over the content section. If you prefer to have the look of your website done
first, feel free to skip ahead to the Themes section and come back to the Content section afterwards.
Also, don't worry about how your blog looks right now. You don't have any content yet. Once you get
some quality content to get started, you will start to see everything come together.

                                                                                                  Page 16

STEP 5: Adding Quality Content To Your Website
They say content is king, and they are right! A website isn't anything without quality content to help
drive traffic. The biggest mistake many people make, is focusing solely on the money making aspect of
the site. People will just litter their poorly written pages with ads in hopes of earning more money. In
fact, this drives people away. Think about it, when you go to a website and you see all these useless ads
flickering and dancing in your face, do you think “Gee, let me click on all these bells and whistles!” or
do you rather hurry your mouse to the back button to get the heck out of this spammy dump?
Writing content is an art in itself. These micro/mini sites are in the business of selling clicks, but you
need to walk the fine line between driving your customers to click your ads, and spamming the living
hell out of them. You also don't want your content to be too good. If your content is too good and
answers all of the users questions, then, once they are done reading, they won't have any need to go
look elsewhere. You should write informative articles, that educate your users while at the same time
leaves them wanting more. This will ensure that once they are done reading your articles, they will look
for somewhere else to click, which will be your ad.

Obtaining Your Content
For each site you create, you should be aiming to dress them with 3-5 unique articles. Each article
should be approximately 500 words. I try to keep the keyword density to each article between 1% and
2%. (Meaning that for every 500 word article, the keyword I am targeting will show up between 5-10
times). You should write one or two articles about your main keyword and write the others about a few
different keywords related to the niche. You can find some good secondary keywords using the Google
Keywords tool. Do an exact search on your main keyword and have a look at the results. You should
find plenty of related keywords that are highly specific to your niche. Pick a few of them that look good
(ie, high CPC, decent local search results) and have a look at their competition (this is the same process
as the keyword research, minus finding an exact match domain). Once you have a found a few good
secondary keywords, write a couple of articles about them.
Writing content isn't for everyone. Some people just simply can't wrap their heads around writing a
good article. If you are one of those people, don't worry! There are plenty of services available to get
great quality inexpensive content. Many people make their living out of writing content for other
people's websites. They only require you to give them a title for an article, as well as a few keywords
and a general idea of what you need. Even if you have a great command of the English language and
are passionate about writing, once you get to have multiple sites, writing content can become extremely
tedious and time consuming. Here are a few great services that I have personally used to have content
written for my websites:
iWriter is a fantastic resource. You can request any number of specific articles to be written and can
also provide specific instructions on how you want them written. Not to mention it is very affordable
and easy to use. You can reject an article if it doesn't suit your needs and you can also specify if you
want to make it available to all writers or only the premium writers. I highly recommend iWriter if you
are starting out.
Fiverr is another great resource for inexpensive articles. Go ahead and search for Article Writing,
Website Content, etc... You can get 500 word articles for $5 a pop, which is more expensive than
iWriter, but still well worth the price. You might even get lucky and find a good gig offering multiple

                                                                                                 Page 17
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
articles for $5.
The services listed above a perfect to get you started. Once you are well on your feet and the money
starts to flow, you will probably want to start looking into hiring a team of writers. As you are getting
articles written, you will surely end up having some favourite writers. Get in touch with them
personally and see if you can work out a better price directly with the writer(s). Now that you have a
few articles to get your site started, it's time to publish them to your site.

Adding Your Content
Gather all your completed articles. It's time to add the content to your blog. There are a few ways you
can do this. You can add static pages for you articles, insert your articles into blog posts, or you can use
a combination of both. I recommend using both. Static pages will serve you well if you eventually want
to make an authority site without redesigning everything. Adding articles to your blog posts will save
navigation space and make your site look less cluttered while still getting all the benefits of having
their own URL.
I recommend you build most of your sites around 1 or 2 static pages and add the rest of your articles as
blog posts. This is the method I will show in this guide. Your static page(s) should be focused on your
main keyword. I'd even go as far as having one of your static pages title an exact match to your main
keyword. Meaning, you would have an exact match domain, with an exact match static page and an
exact match title. This will do wonders in helping you beat out your competition in the search rankings.
Let's get started. Go ahead and choose your best article that has been created around your main
keyword. Go to your website's administration panel and add a new page. Enter the exact match
keyword (at worst, something containing the exact match keyword) as the title of the page. Paste your
article in the article body. Take a little bit of time here and make sure the paragraphs are properly
divided and spaced out. Once you are done, decide if you want to add another static page and repeat the
same process.
Once your static pages are created, it's time to add your blog posts. Get your remaining articles (the
ones for the secondary keywords) ready. In Wordpress, go to Posts > Add New. Proceed to add each
article as a new post. I like to add the targeted keyword in all the post titles for SEO purposes. Once
you are done, create a new page for your blog posts. You don't have to put anything in the body. Simply
create a new page and name it “Blog” or “Keyword Articles” or something similar. You will see why in
a moment.
You will now need to tweak the blog settings again. If you have chosen to not put up any static pages,
you can leave these settings as is. If you have published a static page, have a look at the following
options in your Wordpress administration panel. Go to Settings > Reading. Decide if you want your
homepage to display your blog posts or one of your static pages. Since this is an EMD micro site, I
always choose to show my homepage as the static page for my main keyword. For the posts page,
select the blank page you created above. The next option you may want to look at is “Blog pages show
at most X posts”. This determines how many articles you will be showing if someone clicks on your
blog page link. 10 is a nice standard number. I sometimes find 10 to be too many. Depending on the
length of your articles, I would set this somewhere between 3 and 10.

                                                                                                   Page 18
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

Wow! You're just about done with the site. Let's hop on to the next section and optimize the site a little
bit to make the search engines LOVE you!

                                                                                                   Page 19
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

STEP 6: Site Optimization (On Page SEO)
On page SEO is one of the most overlooked steps of site development. It really isn't like the saying
goes: “If you build it, they will come”. You need to make whatever you are building attractive if you
want visitors. You need to key in on the specifics of what people are searching for to make them truly
believe that they will find what they are looking for on your website. (ie: If your site is
blackpearls.com, but all your articles talk about cute animals, you're probably not going to get too
many hits).

SEO Plug Ins
The first thing you should do is install a great free plug in for your site. It's called “All In One SEO
Pack”. In your administration panel, go to Plug Ins > Add New and search for “All In One SEO Pack”.
Once you have located it, go ahead and install/activate it. Once it is activated, you should spend a few
minutes configuring it.
Go over to Settings > All In One SEO. Set the plug in status to “Enabled”. Then set the title,
description and keywords for your home page. (NOTE: Don't just breeze through this and write
anything! This is what people will see when your page shows up in the search results. If you don't
make this enticing and informative, no one will click on your site!)

Both your title and your description should contain your main keyword and be catchy. If you can make
it work, I'd even try to put in my main keyword in the description twice (only do this if you can make it
seem like a natural sentence). Keep your description nice and short (160 characters or so). Don't make
it seem too spammy. For your keywords, simply enter the keywords you are targeting, separated by a
comma. Try to refrain from using too many keywords. I usually only put 3-5 keywords per page.
Sometimes I put only 1 or 2.
As for the other settings in the plug in, I set most of my sites the following way:

                                                                                                 Page 20
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

This will ensure that you aren't indexing duplicate content and will auto generate some information for
you if you forget to put it in when you add future articles. Most of the other settings can be left at their
default values. Leave them as is if you aren't familiar with SEO.

Article Optimization
You should now spend a bit of time configuring the articles you posted earlier. If you properly wrote
your articles, you will have your main keyword spread out throughout the article a few times. A good
way to show the search engines that these keywords are particularly important to your site is to format
them a little differently than the standard text. A few ways you can do this is to bold them, underline
them and have them link to an internal page on your blog.
Go through your articles and take some time to highlight a few of the keywords throughout your post.
Don't get greedy and emphasize each and every keyword. Google may actually penalize you for this
with the latest over optimization update. After the April 24th 2012 update, I try to emphasize about 50%
of the keywords. I will also vary the emphasis. I will bold one of them, underline another and link a 3rd
if I have 5 or more of the same keyword in an article. One thing many people don't know is that you
can link a keyword back to it's own page. This is a great way of showing search engines that the
particular page revolves around a certain keyword.
You should then go over your article again and see if any of your secondary keywords show up (or try
to fit them in somewhere) so you can link them to the other posts/pages on your site. Search engines
love interlinking. It's also great for the overall user experience as it gives users a few different options
to navigate through your site.
Once you have your articles optimized for their keywords, you will want to add some categories and
tags to your posts. Categories and tags are a great way to add more keyword density to your pages

                                                                                                     Page 21
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
without appearing like you are keyword stuffing. On the right side of your post you should see a
section to add categories and tags. I usually add 2-3 categories and 2-3 tags. These will usually be exact
matches to the keywords I am targeting.

Some people might decide to add pictures to their articles. Though they are not necessary (I have many
sites that use no images at all and are quite successful), pictures are a great way to keep people engaged
with your content. If they are properly optimized they might even bring in traffic on their own through
Google Images. Be careful when selecting images. Most are usually copyrighted and require
permission from the owner before you can use them on your website. Depending on your niche, you
can probably even take some pictures yourself to put up on your blog. Alternatively, you can purchase
rights to legally use certain images on your site. I have outlined a few resources I currently use to
obtain publishing rights for images.
 iStockPhoto is one of the largest stock photo repositories in the world. You will surely find
many suitable images for most niches here.
 PhotoDune offers over 1 million photos for you to choose from and very reasonable prices.
To add an image in a post, simply click the “Upload/Insert Media” link at the top when editing your
post. On the next screen you should fill out the required information and throw in your keywords as
much as you can. Pay particular attention to the Title and Alternate Text fields as they hold the most
SEO benefit.

                                                                                                  Page 22
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

The final step to optimizing your articles is to configure the All In One SEO pack for the particular
post/page. Go to the bottom of the post and locate the All In One SEO Pack configuration for the page
or post. Be sure to fill out the Title, Description and Keywords to match the contents of that particular
post.

Once you are done, repeat the same process for each page and post on your site. Now it's time for the
fun stuff! Let's get started designing and configuring the look of your site!

                                                                                                  Page 23

STEP 7: Themes & Layout
This is the part when all your hard work and vision will finally come together. This is one of the
funnest aspects of building a site, and it's when you can let your creative juices flow. Wordpress is built
around Themes to enhance the look and feel of your site. Each theme is different and each one offers a
different combination of features. You should take your time and try out a few different themes on your
site until you find one that suits the site's needs.
When choosing a theme, you need to take into account the end goal. Your end goal is to have people
click on the advertisements you will be eventually placing on your site. This is how you are going to
make your money initially. The themes I have had the most success with, for micro niche sites, have all
been 2 column themes. I usually like to have the sidebar column on the right hand side, however, I have
had success with the sidebar on the right as well. Once you have your site up and you are getting
traffic, you can always try out different layouts and see which get you more clicks.
Wordpress offers thousands of free themes. I have done very well with some of the free themes. Head
over to http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ and browse through some of the great free themes
available. You can preview what each of the themes will look like right from the website.
Even though free themes are good, there are a few themes that are a cut above the rest. Some themes
are specifically designed to improve CTR (click through rate) of your ads, and offer many invaluable
advertising specific features that free themes just miss the ball on. I have listed below the 3 paid themes
that have given me the most success. I highly recommend you use these themes for most of your
websites. I literally double my money on each site I put these on.

CTR Theme is an incredible theme. It is specifically designed for micro niche Adsense sites. Each
site I put this on doubles it's click through rate easily. I would definitely recommend this theme if you
are looking to maximize your earnings right out of the gate. The only negative I have to say is that it is
almost too good at coaxing clicks. I recommend you closely monitor your clicks in case they get too
inflated.
Profits Theme is a superb all in one theme. It offers incredible monetizing features. It is specifically
built to convert customers into buyers. Not only can you make great mini sites out of this theme, it is
fully integrated with opt in forms, sales pages, new product launch pages, landing pages, a whole
slew of sales templates and sub themes. It also integrates directly with various payment processors
such as Paypal so you can sell your own products. Not to mention features to restrict certain sections of
your site to authorized members only. This may seem like a lot of gadgets for now, and it is. However,
once you've created a few websites, you might want to try out new ways of monetizing your sites and
new sources of incomes. This is an all in one theme that pretty much has you covered for any method
you choose to monetize your site. After discovering this theme I practically use it religiously. Check out
Profits Theme's website HERE.

Once you have chosen a theme, go ahead and download it. If you are opting for a free theme, you can
install it straight from Wordpress. Go to Appearance > Themes > Install Themes and search for the
name of the theme you have found on wordpress.org. Once you have located your theme, click “Install
Now” and then click “Activate”.
If you have decided to download a paid theme, you will need to download the theme and upload it to
the wp-content/themes/ folder of your website. You can either use an ftp program such as Filezilla, or

                                                                                                   Page 24
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
you can upload the file directly from your web host's control panel. (NOTE: Many themes and web
host's have different installation steps. If you are having trouble, have a look at the themes supporting
documentation. You be able to find a good step by step installation guide). Once the theme has been
downloaded, you can go to Appearance > Themes where you should see the newly downloaded theme.
Here you will be able to activate the theme.
Once the theme is activated, your website will take on the design of the selected theme. It's like an
instant makeover!
Don't forget to have a look at all the options available for the theme you selected. These options can
mostly be found in the Appearance menu. If you are using a paid professional theme, you may notice
that it has a unique menu for it in the side bar. Go through the options and the theme documentation in
order to customize the theme just the way you like it.

After you install a theme, there will always be a little bit of tweaking to do in order to get your site up
to par. These tweaks are mostly to improve the user experience. Here are a few things I like to do to all
my sites:
Set your privacy policy/disclaimer/contact pages to show up in the footer of the page instead of in the
top navigation bar. These pages don't really matter and you don't want to draw attention away from the
sections of the site that will make you some money. Try to keep the top navigation bar limited to your
home page, static pages and blog.
Go to Appearance > Widgets. Get rid of all the default widgets by dragging and dropping them into the
“Active Widgets” area. The only thing I put in my sidebar to get a blog started is the “Recent Posts”
and “Categories” widgets. Your sidebar widget should now look something like this:

Try to keep things as uncluttered as possible to get your site started. You don't want things to look too
busy right away.

Plug ins:
The next thing you should do to your blog is add a few extra plug ins to improve the overall
functionality of your site. Always be on the lookout for new and innovative plug ins for your site. Head

                                                                                                   Page 25
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
over to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ and have a look at the extensive selection of free plug ins
Wordpress has to offer. Have a look at them and decide if they will benefit your specific site. Good
plug ins I look far are ones that integrate social media and allow people to share posts to Twitter,
Facebook, etc... I've already covered the must have plug ins above, all the rest is just bells and whistles.
Have fun with them.
That's it! Your site is finished and we are finally ready to launch it to the world! Phew! Pat yourself on
the back, you've just finished the toughest part of this process. What's that? You don't have ads on your
site yet? Don't worry! This is by design. You want to get a bit of traffic going to your website before
you start slapping ads on it. Putting ads on your website right away can cause you a few headaches.
Your site won't have enough traffic, so you'd only be making pennies, OR, even worse, you'll make
some money, but your click through rate will be much too high and you will risk the chance of being
banned from the Adsense publisher program! Ouch!
You are still about a week or two away from adding ads and monetizing your site. I suggest being
patient for just a tiny bit longer. It will pay off in the end. Trust me!

                                                                                                    Page 26

STEP 8: Website Launch
Now that your website is ready to launch, the first thing you want to do is get your site indexed on
various search engines. The best way to to this is to submit a sitemap to the top search engines. The
best plug in I have found to create a sitemap is Google XML Sitemaps. Head over to the Plug ins
section of wordpress and install and activate it. Once this plug in is installed, it will generate a sitemap
for your site and will also notify the 3 biggest search engines (Google, Bing, Ask) that your site has
been updated. Go to Settings > XML-Sitemap and feel free to go through the options, but the default
settings are generally the best if you aren't familiar with it. Once you have configured the plug in
options to your liking, click “Update” at the bottom and the plug in should generate and notify the
required search engines.
If you choose, you can head over to Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Tools and create
accounts so that you can further track your progress. These sites will also allow you to manually submit
your sitemap to them as well as verify you are the owner of the site. I highly recommend doing this,
since you will eventually be able to track which keywords people are searching for to find your site, as
well as where these particular keywords are ranking in the search results.
Getting your website indexed by simply submitting a sitemap could take quite some time. Below, I
have outlined a few steps you can do to accelerate the process.
The first thing I do is I have my website pinged. This basically tells search engines that your site is up
and running and that they should send their crawlers to visit the site as soon as they can. My favourite
free pinging service can be found here. You basically just put in your URL and a keyword and select all
sites below and click “Ping”. When I do this, my site usually gets indexed within a matter of hours
compared to the usual few days.
The next tool I use is the IMT website submitter. This great free tool submits your site to over 2500
basic directories (kind of like whois or website data type sites). They are low quality links, but they
aren't spam and every link back to your website counts towards your overall rankings.
Next, you want to try to submit your site to web directories. Many people don't bother submitting their
sites to directories, but again, every link counts. Just head over to Google and search for Web Directory
Submission or Web Directory List. You should come up with quite a few directories you can submit
your site too. Some are paid, most are free. Some will ask for a reciprocal link. I tend to stay away from
paid directories or those requiring reciprocal links. They just aren't worth the time or the money. The
most important directory you should try to get listed in is dmoz.org. This is by far the most popular
directory and the one that holds the most weight in search engines.
Now that you've notified the search engines of your site's existence, you should wait until your site is
properly indexed before you start trying to rank your site. If you've done all the steps above, your site
should get indexed within a few hours. To check if your site is indexed, head over to Google and type
the following in the search bar: site:yoururl.com. If your home page comes up, you've been indexed!
Congratulations!

Once your site has been properly indexed, you will need to find a way to track how many visitors your
site is getting. This is critical to knowing when you should start placing ads on your site. We will cover
ads in detail in the monetizing section. For now, just keep in mind that you are looking for, on average,
20 visitors a day to your site before you start putting ads up.
There are a few services that allow you to track your websites statistics, most web hosts will have some

                                                                                                     Page 27
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
build in statistics as well. I have outlined a few different services I have used to accurately track
website performance:

Google Analytics is by far the most comprehensive and sophisticated web statistics gatherer out there
AND it's FREE!. I use this for all my sites and I recommend you do to. Anything and everything you
would ever want to track can be accomplished with Google Analytics.
Still, there are people out there that don't want Google knowing everything they do and try to hide a
little bit. For those people, you can try Wordpress Stats. Wordpress Stats is a Wordpress plug in. Once
it is installed it will begin gathering information about your visitors, which posts and pages are the most
popular. It will track where your traffic comes from as well as your exit stats. Just search for Wordpress
Stats in the plug in section to install.
You should be all set now to move on the the next (and most important) section of the guide: Ranking
Your Website.

                                                                                                        Page 28
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

STEP 9: Ranking Your Website
Your website is indexed, now what? Your goal here is to rank your website somewhere on the fist page
of the Google search results for your keywords. When people search for your keyword, they very
seldom venture past the 1st page. Even better, you should aim to sit in the top 3 search results. How do
you get there? Search engines rank sites using complex algorithms. They will scan your page
periodically and analyze the keywords, content and on page SEO. If you have properly done the on
page SEO for your articles, you should have a pretty good score already.
The biggest factor to affecting your rank is your site popularity. Search engines will see how many
other sites are linking back to your site. They count this as a vote of confidence. The more votes you
get, the more “popular” your site will appear. If your site appears to be popular, search engine's will
display it higher up in the rankings. Not only that, but they will also analyze the quality of the site
linking back to you, as well as if the site is related to your niche. Getting a backlink from a few high
PR sites in your niche is a recipe for an incredible boost.
I will now outline a few different ways to get some great backlinks to your site. The first few
recommendations will be paid ones. If you aren't interested in any of the paid services, skip down
below and I will cover how to get some nice backlinks for free.

Paid Linking Services
I highly recommend you start off your ranking campaign with a nice paid package. This can help cut
out months of backlinking efforts. I usually start each site out with a nice package, and then move on to
manual linking and less expensive linking packages to maintain it's results. Doing it this way, my sites
are usually on the 1st page of google within 2 weeks after launch. This is a process that could take
months to happen on it's own. Not to mention, most people will give up if they don't see any results
shortly after launch. If you invest a bit of money in the initial launch. You are much more willing to
follow through with the entire process and will be much more motivated as you will see instant results.
Stay away from the monthly SEO packages or any 3rd party SEO services that will cost over $100.
They are simply not worth the money to invest in micro niche sites such as these.
(NOTE: Due to the recent algorithm updates in Google, you should focus on diversifying your
keywords. Don't create all your links with your main keyword only. Add a few secondary
keywords as well as action words such as click here, site, yoururl.com, etc..)

SERP Explosion: I use this service on all my sites when launching. No Exceptions. I highly
recommend you pick one of these packages up. SERP Explosion is from Search Engine Rockstar. These
guys are simply the best. They offer great link diversity and the power of their packages are incredible.
Depending on the niche, my sites usually rocket up to the top 10, sometimes top 5 results in the
search engines with this gig alone. I've had one site go from nowhere to spot #2 and making $30 a
day within the first 2 weeks of launch. I live and die by this service. I usually go for the SERP
Explosion package. It is the most expensive, but it also provides the best results. I always recoup the
full cost of this service within the first month of purchasing.
If the SERP Explosion package is out of your price range, I would opt for the BLITZ package from
the same company. It's about half the price, yet it is still very capable of catapulting your site to the first
page. Visit Search Engine Rockstar HERE.

                                                                                                      Page 29
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

Once you have benefited from a top quality package from Search Engine Rockstar, you should usually
sit still for a while and go over the manual and free linking process. If ever you notice a drop in
rankings or if you want to give a particular site a little extra push, You can apply a standard quality
package. They are less expensive and less robust, but will offer great SEO benefits none the less. Also,
if you opted not to go for one of the Search Engine Rockstar services, you can also pick and match a
few of these great packages to help boost your site rankings. I have ranked many sites on the 1st page
using only fiverr gigs. Here are some of the great affordable gigs and services I routinely use to rank
my sites:

SEOWarlock offers link wheel's and wiki links for your sites. Link Wheel's are perfect to get your site
off the ground. Wiki Links are a good choice for link diversity as well as for diversifying your anchor
texts. I really like this service. Check them out HERE.
Fiverr is a great resource for finding cheap backlinking gigs. Just head over to to Fiverr.com and search
for SEO, or backlinks. Be weary of cheap and spammy links though. Don't go overboard with services.
Someone offering 500000 links for $5, is probably not going to be a good service. Try to look for
quality over quantity. I have listed a few of my favourite Fiverr gigs below. Please note that Fiverr
sellers are independant so their services may not be available for ever. Here are the gigs I am currently
using and recommending:
 High PR Contextual Links: This is probably my favourite Fiverr gig at the moment. I put this on
     all my sites.
 Article Submission: Another fantastic gig. Give you 2000+ quality article backlinks
 EDU Link Pyramid: Edu links are high authority in nature, plus they are powered by forum
profiles for greater diversity. This is another gig I use quite frequently.

Even if you have purchased a link building package and are currently ranking in the top position, it is
important to keep linking to your content and keep adding backlinks. This will ensure that your
position is maintained in the search engines, as well as keep your site fresh in Google's eyes.

Free Services
Here are a few ways to create your own backlinks for FREE.

Web 2.0's
Web 2.0's are basically other blog sites. You can sign up for an account and post a few articles
containing links back to your site. Here are a few high PR sites you can create content on and link back
to your money site:
Wordpress.com Typead.com Posterous.com Tumblr.com Blogger.com
Livejournal.com Weebly.com Rediff.com Webs.com Blog.com
my.opera.com Tripod.com Salon.com Squidoo.com Edublogs.com

                                                                                                 Page 30
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

Social Bookmarks
Social bookmarking can be a very cheap and effective way of getting low quality backlinks as well as
traffic. Submit your site so various bookmarking sites such as digg.com, stumbleupon.com,
reddit.com, delicious.com etc... Just search Google for social bookmarking sites and you should find a
ton.

Forums
Forum are a great way to get some nice backlinks as well as some traffic. Especially if the forum is
related to your niche. Simply sign up to some forums and fill out your profile. Add your website to
your profile as well as add a link to your website in your signature. Start posting in the forums and
engage in discussion with some of the regulars. Every time you post, you will get a backlink. ;)

RSS Submissions
Every wordpress blog has an rss feed. You can submit this feed to RSS Aggregator sites to create some
quick backlinks. Click Here for a list to some free RSS directories.

Yahoo Answers
Yahoo Answers is another awesome spot to get some free backlinks. Just create an account, search for
questions related to your niche and start answering questions. Just add a link to your site in your post.

Blog Commenting
Commenting on blogs is one of the more popular ways to create free backlinks. It's also a great way to
get a backlink on a blog that is very closely related to your niche. A really easy way to find related
blogs is to search one of the following in Google:
    inurl:blog "post a comment" "YOUR KEYWORD"
Simply replace “YOUR KEYWORD” with the keyword you are targeting or something related. This
should show a bunch of results of blogs related to your keywords. All you have to do now is post a
related and intelligent comment and link back to your website.

Social Media
Another factor that is becoming more and more important with each passing day, is social media links.
Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter are good examples of these. Depending on the niche, you might
want to create a Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter account for your site. Start gaining some followers
and likes and you will be able to push out links to your site that will be high in rank. Alternatively, if
you feel this is too much to manage, you can create a generic account and tweet or post about all your
sites from one account.

NOTE: If you want to make your life easier, you can also purchase some tools to make your
backlinking automated. These would also save you time and money in the long run since you won't

                                                                                                  Page 31
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
always be relying on purchasing services or spending time manually backlinking all your pages. These
tools are much too advanced for this guide, but go ahead and search for tools such as Scrapebox,
SENuke and Xrumer and see what they have to offer.

These are just a few simple ways to start ranking your website. If you follow these methods, you should
have your site ranked on the 1st page of Google in no time flat. IMPORTANT! Don't go overboard
with your ranking. Try different services and spread them out. If you go crazy on backlinking
you run a high risk of getting your site penalized for spam. The goal is to make your linking
strategy appear as natural as possible. It might take a bit longer to get to position #1, but it's
better to get there safely, than to crash and burn before you even have a chance.
Don't forget to monitor your traffic using the tools from the previous section. You'll need to keep a
close eye on it in order to determine when it will be appropriate to start hosting ads on your site and
start making some money. Now that you are starting to rank your site, you need a way to track your
progress.

                                                                                                   Page 32
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

STEP 10: Tracking Your Success
Tracking the progress of your website is an integral part in determining your chances for success. The
only way to make sure that all your hard work is paying off is to see it for yourself. You should already
have a way to track the amount of traffic coming into your site, but what about tracking your search
results? How high are you ranking in the search engines for your keywords?
Your ultimate goal should be to rank in the top 3 results for your keyword in any given search engine.
The first ranked result usually gets about 50% of the traffic. The next 2 spots combine for about 40%.
Leaving only 10% of the traffic for the rest of the results. Being on the 2nd page is practically the same
as not being indexed at all. For this very reason, you will want to closely monitor your rankings in able
to determine which keywords/articles are under performing and may need an extra little push to rank
higher.
Again, there are paid methods and free methods to track your search engine result positions (SERP). I
will be outlining the best of both worlds.

Paid Tracking Tools
Traffic Travis is a fantastic tool and I use it every day. Not only can you get up to date information
about your search competition, but it also serves as a rank checker. You can set up all your sites as a
separate project and you can assign keywords for it to track. You can track all your keywords SERPs
for multiple search engines. This software also offers a ton of extra features that will benefit you for a
long time. I highly recommend picking up a copy of this software. Especially if you are running
multiple sites. Check out Traffic Travis HERE.
Serpbook is a web based online tracker. It is very inexpensive and has a package for everyone, no
matter how little or large your website portfolio is. Simply add your sites and the keywords you wish to
track and watch your search results update daily. Google results are even updated hourly! I'd
recommend this tracker if you are just starting out and don't have much money to invest. Simply
upgrade your subscription when you need to track more sites. Visit Serpbook HERE.

Free Tracking Tools
Easy SEO Tracking is the best and most accurate free tracker available. They also offer paid services,
but the free service is fine if you don't mind typing out your keywords/url’s every time. Just type in the
keyword you want to check the SERP's for and the URL you are looking to find. Once you hit search, it
will show you where your site is located in the search engines for that particular keyword.
SEO Serp is a pretty neat tool as it is one of the only ones that will check the top 1000 search results.
The only complaint I have about it, is that it is not always accurate. However, it will give you a good
indication on weather or not your search results are improving. As with Easy SEO Tracking, simply key
in the keyword and URL and run a search. It should come back and let you know all the pages from
that URL that are ranking in the top 1000 results.

                                                                                                    Page 33
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
Manual Tracking
Even with all the great tools at your disposal, nothing will give you a more accurate result than
manually checking your results. You can't get any more real, than a real search. Head over to the
desired search engine, type in your keyword and manually check where your site comes up. I usually
start manually checking my results once the pages show that they are ranked in the top 20 results. That
way, I'm not stuck sifting through thousands of results to find my site.
What if you're outside the US? What if you are looking for rankings from different countries? Easy, just
use a proxy. A proxy is sort of like an access point. You can connect to a proxy in any country and it
will seem to the rest of the world like your computer is located in that location. HideMyAss is perfect
for this. It's free for US and UK (just click the Home tab at the top), which are usually the most
important ones anyways. If you want to track more countries, you can also purchase a subscription or
search the web for free proxies in the location you want to search from.

You now have all the tools at your disposal to rank your site and track it's success. Keep monitoring
your results and your traffic until you get a steady 20 or so visits a day. Now it's FINALLY time for the
good stuff.... MAKING MONEY!!!

                                                                                                 Page 34
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

LUCKY STEP 11: Making Money
Wow! It's finally time to start benefiting from all this hard work! By now, you should have a site with 3
or more unique articles ranking on the first page of Google and getting at least 20 visits a day (I'd like
to say wait until you get 50, but 20 is fine). LET'S MAKE SOME MOOLAH!

Google Adsense
This guide is designed to have your site's main monetizing method to be Google Adsense. Adsense is
an ad service provided by Google. Advertisers pay a certain amount of money to have their
advertisements shown to the masses of the internet. Google will then serve these ads to various
websites that are targeted to the specific keywords a particular advertiser is bidding on. If you have a
site related to the keywords, their ads will likely be served to your site. If someone visiting your site
finds the served ad interesting and clicks on it, you will get paid a percentage of the advertisers fee.
This especially starts to become very lucrative once your site's traffic increases in the thousands.

Adsense Approval Process
The first step is to sign up for an Adsense account. Head over to Adsense and sign up for an account. If
you already have an Adsense account, skip down a few paragraphs and continue reading. Don't lie or
input garbage data in your application form. You are forming a partnership with Google. This is
the information they will be using to make sure you are a legitimate business and can make or
break the approval process.
Once you have signed up, you will need to wait for your site to get approved. This process can take up
to 7 business days, so be patient. Your approval process will begin once Adsense detects that you are
hosting ads. The fist step is to create your first ad. I won't go in depth about ad creation just yet. You're
just going to create a basic ad host it on your site to get the approval process rolling. Once you have
been approved, you will then customize and optimize your ads to improve the click through rate.
Once you are logged in to your Adsense account. Click the My Ads tab and click the New Ad Unit
button. On the next page, give your ad a name (I usually name the ad after the website and the size of
the unit, or location). For this ad we will create a Large Rectangle ad (you will see why later). Keep all
the the default settings, just name your ad “Website Name – Large Rectangle” and select Large
Rectangle from the Ad Size box.

                                                                                                     Page 35
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

Once you are done, click Save and Get Code. You will be asked to place some code on your website.
You can either do this manually, or you can use a plug in.
Whydowork Adsense is a great plug in for hosting ads. Another is AdInjection. Head over to your
site's admin panel and install one of them. (Install both of them and play around with them a bit to see
how they work and which you prefer. Personally, Whydowork Adsense works for me. It's incredibly
simple and does it's job well. This is the plug in I will showing in this guide.
Go to Settings > WhydoworkAdsense. Click the Code #1 link at the top and paste your ad code in the
box.

In each section below, select code 1 and bottom for the location. Leave everything else as default and
click “Update”

Your site is now hosting ads (NOTE: You won't see any ads during the approval process). Adsense
should detect this shortly and your site will begin it's approval process. Again, be patient throughout
this process, it may take a few days. NOTE: Please make sure you read the Adsense Terms Of Use
document completely. Make sure you are comfortable and understand what you can and cannot
do. Adsense is relentless and if you break their terms, you WILL be banned. Once you are
banned, you are banned for life. So be careful.

                                                                                                 Page 36
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
If you have previously been banned from Adsense or for some reason, your site does not pass the
approval process. You can purchase a per-approved Adsense account from AdsenseG by clicking
HERE. This is a great service for those wanting a second chance and can usually get you approved
within 24 hours.
If for some reason, you do not want to use Adsense, I have listed a few similar services below that you
can try out. I highly recommend you stick with Adsense. They are simply the best. Other, similar
services have a much lower CPC and ads are much less targeted. If you insist, here are some other
services:
    Adbrite
    Chitika
    Infolinks

Implementing Your Ads
Ad placement is the most important part of monetizing your site. No one will click your ads if they are
hard to see or in “dead zones”. Adsense allows you to place up to 3 Ad Units, 2 Link Units and 2
Search Units on a site. I strongly recommend you DO NOT use the maximum allotted units. Filling
your site with ads is very unattractive and will actually drive your visitors away as it will make your
site look like spam city.
I strongly encourage you to experiment with ad placement, sizes and types. It is important to know that
each site is different and what works for one site, may not work for the next. For the purpose of this
guide, I will stick with what works for me on most of my sites. Generally, I find link units and search
units do not work so well on micro niche sites. They are much better suited for Authority Type sites.
For a micro or mini site such as yours, I recommend you create 3 Ad Units.
From my experience, the highest converting ad unit is the 336x280 Large Rectangle. I usually inject
this right into the top of my post, under the title and embedded in the content. I will also put a 468x60
banner a the bottom of my post (or another large rectangle) as well as a 160x600 Wide Skyscraper in
my sidebar.
Go ahead and log into your Adsense account and create the following units:
    1x 336x280 Large Rectangle
    1x 468x60 Banner
    1x 160x600 Wide Skyscraper
Name the units as you like. Don't worry about the design just yet. We will get to that shortly. For now,
you simply want to concentrate on the size and location of the ads.
If you haven't already installed the free Whydowork Adsense plug in, do so now. (You can also use
your preferred plug in or insert the ads in your site manually).
Go to Settings > Whydowork Adsense. Paste the code for the Large Rectangle Ad in the Code #1
section and the Banner code in the Code #2 section.

                                                                                                  Page 37
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

In the following sections, set code 1 to Top Left and code 2 to bottom.

You have now set two of your ads. For the side bar ad, you will create a Text widget. Go to Appearance
> Widgets. Find the Text widget and drag it into your side bar. Once it is there, go ahead and paste the
code for the Wide Skyscraper in the body. (Leave the title blank, it will appear less like an ad and more
like a part of your site).

                                                                                                 Page 38
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

Now, go ahead and have a look at your site. Fell free to tweak the settings, create new ad sizes, change
the positions until you are happy with the layout. (Remember, your goal is to have people click on the
ads, so you need to keep them visible and in high traffic areas. Don't tuck them away in a corner, you
won't make a single dime). Once you are satisfied with the layout, it's time to tweak the designs.

Tweaking And Designing Your Ads
The second most important part to hosting ads is blending them into your design. Your goal here is to
make it seem like the ads are a part of the site. (Again, be careful here to make sure you are not
breaking the Adsense TOS). You want people to be drawn to your ads, and hopefully not notice that it
is an ad.
There are a few tricks you can do to accomplish this:
 Blend your background. I always make the background colour for my ads the same as the
background of my site. (if the background to your site is white, make it white, if your sidebar

 Make your title stand out. You can do one of two things here. Either set your title colour to a

dark blue (people are used to clicking blue links, it come naturally to them). Or, set your title
colour to the same as the rest of the links on your page (this will make the ad seem like it's part
       of your website).
 Make the text and URL colours the same as the text on your page or a few shades lighter. This
will keep the attention on the title and attract more clicks.
 Make the font the same or similar to the font your website is using, also play around with the
size of the font to match your site's needs.
To customize your ad, go to Adsense, find your add and click edit ad. At the bottom, in the Ad Style
section, click “Use Custom Settings” The following example is something I would use on a site with a
white background and black text.

Again, practice makes perfect here, keep playing around with ad positioning and colour schemes until
you find something that works for your site. Also, don't give up if you don't see immediate results.
Advertising is funny sometimes. I have sites that make $50 a day on some days, and then the next will
make next to nothing. If I would have tested a new ad style on that second day, I might have given up
before I properly analyzed the results. If you make a change, even a small one, I recommend you give it
at least a week to find out if it is working or not.
A properly designed website will usually get a click through rate between 1-4%. Meaning, that for
every 100 visitors that come by your site, you will get 1 to 4 clicks on your ads. Some sites and themes
will have inflated values (10-15%). If you are looking for a good theme that is specifically designed to
increase your CTR, check out CTR Theme. Don't get too excited if your numbers are high. It's not
always a good thing. if you find you have similar numbers, I would strongly recommend you consider
changing your theme or ad positioning. The Adsense team may see this as fraud or spam and may ban
your account.
That's pretty much it for Adsense. You can now leave your site running and check your earnings from
time to time. If after a certain period of time, you notice your site isn't earning as much as you'd like, or
even if you would like to increase your revenue even more, you can either look into different ad sizes
or positioning, or even different methods to monetize your site. The next subsection will outline a few
different methods you can use get additional revenue.

                                                                                                     Page 40

Alternative Ways To Monetize Your Website
As I mentioned earlier, not all websites will be successful with just putting a few Adsense ads on it.
Each niche is different and particular in its own way. Even though this guide is meant for Adsense
micro niche sites, I will briefly run through some of the different options you can look into if your site
is struggling, or if you feel you have enough traffic to add an additional source of income to your site.

CPA Networks
CPA Networks (Cost Per Action) offer very enticing offers that will pay you when a user performs a
specific action (fills out a survey, submits their e-mail address/zip code, sign up for an offer, etc..).
You've all seen the ads to get free iphones, ipads, gift cards, etc... Those are CPA offers. The good thing
about CPA Offers is that the offers are enticing. They work especially well in the
entertainment/technology niches. A few great CPA networks are listed below:
    Peerfly
    CPA Lead
    MaxBounty
If you want to increase your earnings from CPA offers, you can combine them with content locking.
Content locking basically blocks access to your website until the visitor fills out the offer/survey. This
is a guide in itself so if you want to know more, run a search for content lockers in Google and read
away.

Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate Marketing is a great way to supplement the income for your site. Basically, you host a relevant
ad form a company (or promote a specific product) and someone purchases the product by clicking on
your link, you will get a commission for the sale. Depending on the product and the supplier,
commissions are usually around the 5-20% range. The easiest way to get involved in affiliate marketing
is to sign up to some of the major affiliate networks. They are usually easy to get approved for and
offer a vast amount of suppliers and products to choose from. I have listed, below, some of the biggest
(and my favourite) affiliate networks. Simply sign up, see what they have to offer and start promoting
products:
    ShareASale
    Linkshare
 Amazon (Amazon has a pretty low commission rate; however, they have one of the greatest
conversion rates out there. Simply because people trust Amazon).

Clickbank
Clickbank is very similar to regular affiliate marketing. The main reason I put it separately, is because
their commission rate is incredible. You can expect to make 50-90% of the sale price by referring
clickbank products. Clickbank products can also be pretty particular to promote. I find they work best
with a small article or review of the product with links to the product spread out throughout your
article. If you find a great product on Clickbank, you can bank hard! I have sites with their only source
of income being a single Clickbank product making $100/day! Sign up now and have a look at their

vast selection of products. You can find something for ANY niche here.

You now have a pretty good idea of what it takes to make money with your site. Many people will just
stop here and leave their sites running and making a few bucks a day. That's fine. However, as with
anything in life, if you don't take care of something, it will eventually die out. The next section will go
over a few things you can do to maintain your site and keep it fresh.

                                                                                                    Page 42

STEP 12: Maintaining Your Website
Properly maintaining your site is critical to your success. A common mistake, made by many, is that
once your site attains a certain level of success, they simply stop taking care of it. They just assume that
the riches will last forever and they leave it collecting dust. They might also think that their site is not
making enough money and simply give up on it and stop working on it. Both are a mistake.
Leaving your site unattended isn't a good idea as you will always have competition, and if you're not
careful, someone will steal your spot in the search results. Also, the more content you add, the more
authority your site will have, which generally correlates to greater income possiblites.
You probably won't get a good feel for what your site is truly capable of for a good 3-6 months. Many
sites need time to settle in and get properly indexed. Most of my sites start off with steady traffic
initially when I rank the site and then seem to stabilize. Then, somewhere along the 3-6 month mark,
traffic begins to skyrocket! Once your site becomes established, Search engines will begin to see it as a
“pillar”, or a measuring stick for other sites. Thus boosting all your other pages up in the rankings. I've
seen sites double their traffic after 6 months and triple it after a year!
Don't give up too quickly and don't let your site get stale. Web development is constantly evolving and
so should your site. This section will outline a few tips to maintain your site rankings and have it kept
up to date with fresh content.

Keep Tracking Your Rankings
Rankings are essential to your success. Keep a close eye on them and be ready to react if your rankings
suddenly drop. Use the tools mentioned in this guide and track your search results. I usually monitor
my rankings every day when I first start a new site. Once the site has been sitting comfortably for a
while, I will start checking the rankings weekly. If you notice some of your keywords are dropping, you
might want to think about doing some more back link work to your site or articles. Pick up a few Fiverr
gigs, manually build some links or grab a link building package or two.
You should also never stop creating backlinks to your site. Sign up for Google Alerts and get notified
every time a new blog is created related to your keywords. Create web 2.0 profiles, post in forums. Do
a few rounds every once in a while, just to keep your site popular in search engines eyes.

Keep Adding Content
Search engines LOVE fresh and unique content. They adore sites that are constantly updating and seem
to favor them in their rankings. You should be aiming to add a new and fresh article to your site every
week. At a bear minimum, add one at least once a month. Do a bit of keyword research to find a
suitable keyword to build around. For extra articles, try to find keywords with 100-500 local monthly
searches. They will be much easier to rank with little or no backlinking. Your articles should be around
500 words or so. Optimize them for on page SEO and create a few backlinks for each article to get
them ranking.

                                                                                                   Page 43

Monitor Your Earnings
Keep checking your Adsense reports and look for fluctuations. If your earnings are deviating too much
from the norm (too high or too low), there may be an issue with the site and you might want to
investigate. This will also allow you to test different positioning and ad designs. Keep playing around
with your ads until you find something that works.
That's all there is to maintaining your website in good standing and to give it the best possible chance
to succeed. Follow these steps and you should have a profitable Micro site in no time!

                                                                                                  Page 44

What's Next?
You're probably thinking by now, there is no possible way I'm going to make thousands of dollars a
month building a micro site. Even if you picked a great keyword with a high cost per click ($1-$3) and
you get ranked in the top position. You will probably be lucky to be making $5-$10 a day after 6
months time. It is important to realize that you are not going to be a millionaire by simply building just
one micro site. The purpose of this guide is to show you how to build that one micro site in the best
possible way to earn as much money as possible from that one site.
It's now time to expand. If one site can make you $5-$10 after 6 months (that's $150-$300 a month),
what if you had 10 of those sites? What if you had 100? This is when the money starts getting real. This
is when all your hard work will start paying off. If you can build one, you can build 10. 10 very
successful sites could be bringing in $1500-$3000 a month. If you can manage to build 100, you are
looking at $15k-30k a month!!! Crazy right? It isn't. Anybody can do it, even you!
In fact, I will even outline the entire process for you so you can succeed as well.
   1) Start out building what you can afford. A good way to look at it is that each micro site you build
will have an initial investment of about $20-$100 depending on which packages and services
you get. This includes domain registration, hosting, articles and ranking. I started off building 3
micro niche sites and setting a $50 budget per site.
   2) Build and rank your initial sites, start to get a feel for them and different methods of monetizing
them. You will learn a great amount in this time period. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, and
don't hold back. Keep maintaining your sites and keep tracking their rankings. Once they start
generating income, re-invest your earnings into your initial sites until they start making even
      MORE money.
   3) Once you are comfortable with your initial sites and they are making around $1-$2 a day each.
Start investing half of your income into building new sites and the other half into improving
your old sites. Doing this will allow you to launch 1-2 new sites per month.
   4) Keep improving your older sites and keep creating new ones until you are satisfied with your
earnings. Generally, once one of my micro sites hits the $5-$10/day range, I consider it to have
peaked and I start paying a little bit less attention to it. It then becomes free money. I will add an
article or 2 here and there, check the rankings once in a while, but mostly, I will only pay
attention to them if the income starts to decrease. If you have 2 or 3 sites making $5-$10 a day,
that's enough to invest into making 20-30 new sites a month. You can get to 100 stable income
generating websites within a year easily!

What happens if your site isn't generating any income?
All keywords and all sites can't be great. You can't hit a home run every time. Sometimes, you will land
on a dud keyword, or a site that just isn't making any money no matter what you try. I suggest you give
each site you build at least 6 months to succeed. If you don't see a decent return within 6 months, either
try a different method of monetizing, or get rid of your site.
If after 6 months, your site is generating under $1/day, it's probably a dud, start experimenting with
other methods for monetizing. If after a year, your site is earning under $2/day, get rid of it. They aren't
going to be worth your time. Especially if you are trying to build an empire of great quality micro sites.
You don't want to be wasting any time or energy on sites that aren't banking.

                                                                                                    Page 45
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs
How do you get rid of them? Sell them! Many people would love to have a site making $1-$2/day.
That's $30-$60 a month. General practice in the IM world is to sell your site for about 3-6 months
revenue. So those $1-$2 sites can sell for $90-$360 a pop! Take that money and re-invest in new sites
to keep building your empire. There are a few nice places you can sell your struggling sites. Head over
to Flippa or DigitalPoint and create a new listing. Make your listing attractive, gloat about your search
position, income, traffic, etc.... Create a buzz about your site and see what kind of offers you get.
If you can sell your sites, great. If you get no takers, you will need to make a decision. Do you simply
abandon it and not renew the domain, or do you hold on to it and try to sell it later. The choice is yours.
Keep in mind that it costs about $20 a year to keep a site running. For this reason alone, if the site is
making more than $20/year, I will usually hold on to it and just quit working on it. You never know,
you might have a great idea further down the road, or you may even try your hand at selling it later,
plus you're not losing any money on it.

Authority Sites
Something you should be striving for with all your micro niche sites is to eventually convert them into
authority sites. An authority site is generally classified as a site with over 100 quality articles. These
sites hold much more weight in the search engines and are very difficult to surpass in the rankings. Not
to mention, with 100 articles targeting different keywords, you should have a seemingly endless source
of traffic. A properly configured authority site can easily bring in $50-$300/day. I am currently working
on a guide for authority sites, so keep your eyes peeled.

Side Money
If you purchased Keyword Scout, you can use it to find profitable keywords and sell them to people.
Learn to use it and find a forum or classifieds board that caters to Internet Marketers and offer to sell
them some profitable keywords for cheap. I usually sell keywords with 1000+ local US search and a
CPC of $1+ for $5 a pop. A great keyword of 3000-5000 local US search can sell for $15. Depending
on where I offer this service, I can make $50/day just selling keywords.
If you have purchased some tools such as Scrapebox, SEnuke or XRumer you can sell backlinking
services on Fiverr or other related forums. I can make another $50/day using these tools.
Take all your side profits and invest in your MNS projects even more. The possibilities are endless.

Set Some Goals For Yourself
It's practically impossible to measure your success if you don't set goals for yourself. Every milestone
you reach is a big one. Start off setting your goals small. Make them realistic. If you set your goals too
high, you will be more apt to get discouraged and give up. Once you have reached a goal, set another
goal and strive to reach that milestone, then another. I have outlined MY original goals from when I
started out, (I found them a little while ago in a box in my closet. They were the motivation for me to
write this book).

                                                                                                   Page 46
Micro Niche Success: An Extensive Guide For Newbs

   1) Create and host a website
   2) Get my website indexed
   3) Get my site to page 2 in the search results
   4) Get my site to page 1 in the search results
   5) Get a steady 10 visits a day to my site
   6) Get a steady 20 visits a day to my site
   7) Get 1 click on a paying ad (My first money online! YAY!)
   8) Make a steady 50 cents a day
   9) Make $1 a day
   10) Create more websites
   11) Get a website ranking in the top 3 search results
   12) Make $5 a day
   13) Make $10 a day
   14) Get a website to number 1 in the search results
   15) Make $50 a day
   16) Make $100+ a day
   17) etc..
They are a lot of goals, but as you can see, they start off very small, and they next step isn't that much
of a stretch. I see so many people setting their goal right away at making $1000 a day! Geeze! Relax!
They get so frustrated when they don't have instant success, that they give up before they have even
started. It's important to remember that the world won't be handed to you. You need to work for what
you get. IM is hard work. Don't let anyone tell you that it's easy, and all you need to do is buy this or
that to make it happen. There is no such thing as free money.
This concludes this guide. I want to take this time to thank you for reading all the way through. This
guide took me an eternity to write and I have put a lot of care and attention into it. I hope it serves you
well and I wish you the best of luck on your journey. I have added below a resource list outlining the
services used in this guide for easy access. Use them as you see fit.
You should now have everything you need to get started in the micro niche site world. You don't really
have any excuses anymore. You have all the information and tools at your disposal. It's now time to
take matters in your own hands and take action. Never give up and always keep moving forward. Learn
from your mistakes and celebrate your success. Winners never quit and quitters never win.
