Annual Meeting of the Florida Society of Neurology. This meeting will be
held in Orlando, Florida, September 28-30, 2012, at the Rosen Shingle
Creek. The program is a 3 day conference with an array of educational
tracks being offered. The Florida Society of Neurology is proud to have the
following offerings this year:

 Advances in Neurology: Neurology Across the Lifespan,
including the 7th Annual Florida Neurology Resident’s
         & Fellow’s Research Day

People with childhood illnesses survive into adulthood. This year's
meeting fills an educational gap by focusing on a unique program of Neu-
rology through the Ages from childhood to adolescence and transitioning to
adulthood and geriatrics. We are also offering two special & unique
complimentary sessions this year:
 Health Advocacy Town Hall, Friday 9/28 at 5pm. So much is
changing in health care and you are affected by local state issues. Sit
down with the presidents of the FMA, FOMA, FSN and outreach to
world neurology. It will be well worth your time coming early to the
     meeting.
 The Business of Medicine, Friday 9/28 at 6:30pm. As finances shift,
you will want to stay updated. Join us for this complimentary program
     and bring your office managers.
There is a little something for everyone at our meeting!

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this session, participants will have received current
information on a diversity of medical topics pertinent to patient care in
Neurology. Subject matter was chosen based upon assessed needs, future
trends and relevance to patient care. Many topics were chosen as a direct
result of the evaluations from last year's program, the planning committee
for the behavioral course, the education workgroup of the Florida Society
of Neurology, and the board of the Florida Society of Neurology. At the
end of the three parallel sessions:
 The Florida Neurologist will be updated and will acquire the necessary
skills to perform procedures needed in today’s practice of neurology,
such as EMG, polysomnology, and chemodenervation.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES, CONT.

 The Florida General Practitioner will know how to recognize, localize,
and treat common neurological disorders, and gain exposure to the
essential neurologic exam and the cognitive examination for higher
      brain function.
 The Behavioral Specialist will be updated with the most recent research
advances to cognitive changes in traumatic brain injury.
 The Florida Neurologist-In-Training will have further developed the
skills of analytical thinking and appreciate the value of life-long
      learning, our yearly goal.
