OSTOMY
• A surgical opening made into the bowel or urinary
  tract to allow for the elimination of stool or urine

• The part of the bowel or urinary system visible on
  the abdomen

• Will vary in size depending on type and
  location
• Change in size may occur for up to six
  months following surgery
