Greysia / Meiliana Suspended 4 Months
PBSI eventually sentenced to women's doubles pair Greysia Polii / Meiliana Jauhari with a ban
from the end of the London Olympics 2012 to December 4, 2012. This is done as a result of the
disqualification PBSI Greysia / Meiliana of the 2012 London Olympics for allegedly intentionally
caving in the preliminary round.
"PBSI deciding match ban imposed sanctions since the incident until the date of December 3,
2012, or about 4 months. With all due respect is certainly nothing to lose, but that's his decision.
Please understand that sanctions should be imposed because Greysia / Meiliana be in violation of
the provisions of fair play "said Yacob Rusdianto, the SecretaryGeneral PB PBSI.
He also hoped that the BWF is no longer sentenced to two players, because both are disqualified
at the Olympics is already a severe punishment for Greysia / Meiliana. In addition, the coach, Paul
Firman, was also sentenced the same punishment.
"We welcome this decision and hope such incidents do not recur in the future. Next we will focus
on training alone, so that when played back later we can perform well "said Meiliana contacted
this afternoon, Tuesday (4/9).
Sanctions imposed temporary ban on Greysia / Meiliana include national and international
tournaments under the BWF and PBSI. In this case, it means Greysia Polii can not participate in
the PON Riau 2012 which will take place from 9 to 19 September 2012 in Pekanbaru. Greysia
plans to strengthen the team badminton Jakarta.
