TIPS FOR PLEDGE RAISING
Decide on your goal and start raising pledges today Make a list of people to approach such as friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, businesses, doctors, hairstylist, groomer, vet Ask your employer to match the funds you raise (not to be included for individual pledge gift totals). Find out how the program works, some require verification from the receiving charity. Put an article in your company or group newsletter If you work in customer service, tell your customers about the fundraiser and get them to sponsor you Post our flyer on your company Intranet or in the employee break room. Attach a note telling them you are raising donations for animals. Contact out of town family and friends Encourage the dogless to pledge in honor of their other pet(s) Collect pledges up front to avoid having to follow up Attach a photo of your pet to your pledge form Keep a ‘pledge’ jar at work/home to collect spare change Avoid the crowds, bring pledges to pre-registration site and pick up your prizes and goodie bag. You can add to your total by turning in more pledges on event day. When mailing in pledges do not mail cash, instead write a check for the cash amount made out to OCSPCA Even if you cannot attend the Walk, you can still raise pledges. Be sure to turn them in by event day to be eligible for prizes Remember to include your registration fee in addition to your pledges As you are raising pledges ask everyone to join the fun by participating in the Walk. Everyone is welcome to come and join in on the fun.
