Following the success of last year’s event we are holding the 5 annual Fun Run on Tuesday 20 October.
This year the event includes all of the Sixth Form and is also open to parents and other family members of
the school pupils who have signed up. The run will also count towards the School’s “house sport” results
this year.

Details are as follows:

         Pupils should attend school in PE uniform with 8 safety pins to attach their running numbers.
         School starts at normal time – 8.45am registration with regular tutors followed by assemblies and
          citizenship lessons based on the run / healthy living
         Pupils should try not to bring any valuables to school and any that are bought should be placed in
          lockers before the start of the event. If pupils wish to run with a personal stereo/MP3 player, it is
          their own responsibility to look after them during the event and they use them at their own risk. We
          strongly recommend that pupils should not run with such items for health and safety reasons.
         The run will take place from 10.45am – 1.00pm.
         Family members who are running must register at the start point (on the school field) between
          9.45am and 10.00am.
         Lunch arrangements for students will be as for a normal school day.
         Pupils will be dismissed from approximately 2.30pm following a registration period and a
          presentation assembly.
         All students will be partaking in the run unless they provide a valid note from home at least one
          week prior to the day in order for other arrangements to be made. Pupils excused from running will
          be expected to help with the organisation of the race on the day.
         Should the run/walk need to be cancelled for any reason the school day will run as normal with
          students attending their usual lessons. For this reason all pupils should ensure they still have the
          appropriate equipment with them.
         More information will follow in the form of an event programme.

         Any family members who wish to participate should complete the registration form below and return
          it to Mr Smith at school by Friday 9th October.
     

          Sponsor money should be given into the Bursar’s office once collected, and by Friday 27
          November. Cheques should be made payable to Rickmansworth School. All money raised will be
          split between the P.E. department at school and the Help for Heroes charity.
         Every child will be expected to make a £1.00 donation on the day of the run as they will be running
          in mufti. This will be used to contribute towards the expenses of the day.
