Dear Friend,

This is Flat Stanley. He is on vacation!

My Ancient World History class is doing a geography project using Flat Stanley. You can help me in
school by taking a picture of Flat Stanley in a fun location where you live or travel. Once you take a
picture of Flat Stanley, send it to my teacher as soon as possible. His information is on the back of Flat
Stanley (and below).

After you send my teacher the picture, please fold Flat Stanley and send him to one of your friends in
another state or country. Please include this cover letter with Flat Stanley. I only have until May 1, 2011
for this project. If you happen to have Flat Stanley during the last full week of April, 2011, please send
him to my teacher!

Back at school, I will mark Flat Stanley’s trip location on a world map and write a description of his
vacation. We will also post some of Flat Stanley’s trip pictures on my school’s website.

If you really want to have fun, you can add something to Flat Stanley’s paper wardrobe. For example, my
teacher told us that he heard of another Flat Stanley who visited Scotland and came back with a paper
kilt!

Here is my teacher’s mailing information:

        Mr. Stephen Kubicko

        Deer Lakes Middle School

You may send a digital picture of Flat Stanley to Mr. Kubicko at: skubicko@dlsd.k12.pa.us

Thank you so much for helping me!

Sincerely,

Student # ______________________
