This is a help file for the Internet Go Server, an interactive server allowing Go players from around the world with eachother, observe and comment on games to other observers, and now work with Smart-Go format files! To connect to the Go server, you need to telnet into it. To do so, type in: telnet lacerta.unm.edu 6969 or telnet 129.29.14.70 6969 at your prompt. Alternately, you can enter the telnet program by typing in telnet and then telnet>open lacerta.unm.edu 6969 or telnet>open 129.24.14.70 6969 at the telnet prompt. Either of these should connect you with the Go server. If they do not, talk to your systems adminstrator. Once on the server, you are required to enter your name and password. If you are a new user, enter a name you would like to play under, and a password for yourself. You will be required to re-enter your password, for confirmation. You will also be asked to enter your e-mail addressplease be careful when entering your address! Addresses need the charaters '@', and '.' in order to be accepted. I am having a hard time with mail. To the point I may have to shut it down. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS IS CORRECT. If you forget your password, have any administrative questions about the Go server, or any suggestions on how to improver the server, mail to: chisolm@lacerta.unm.edu or tcasey@lacerta.unm.edu See you on the server! tim and chris
