                                      Logistics Fact Sheet

OJJDP Program Managers look forward to your participation in the OJJDP Tribal Youth Strategic
Planning Meeting held at the Hilton Santa Fe / Historic Plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Tribal Youth Programs (TYP) and Tribal Juvenile Accountability Discretionary Grantees (T-JADG) from
the following states AK, CA, ME, MS, NM, NV,NY, OR, SD WA are required to attend this mandatory
event.

See below for a list of grantees who should attend this event.

Education Development Center, Inc. Tribal Youth T/TA Center is assisting OJJDP Tribal Youth
administration and staff with the coordination of the meeting. Please see below for registration,
meeting, and hotel information.

Registration:
Program Directors should register their entire team no later than Sunday, January 10th:

Should you run into problems using the online registration, please contact Erin Tackney at
etackney@edc.org for a faxable registration form. Please note: We require a registration record of each
individual attending the meeting. Project Director’s are required to register their.

Who Should Attend:
All FY09 OJJDP Tribal Program Directors are required to bring a four-person team. In addition to
the Program Director, the team should include three other Community Stakeholders. These Community
Stakeholders should be in positions that would enable them to implement systems change within their
organizations or in the community that will support the long term implementation of your program’s
goals and objectives. These stakeholders will also vary depending upon which grant program you are
funded under (T-JADG or TYP) and for TYP, which of the program categories you have selected. See
below for examples of potential team members:

       T-JADG (Dependent on selected Program Purpose Areas): Juvenile Tribal Court Judge,
       Lead Tribal Prosecutor, Lead Tribal Probation Officer, Tribal Police Chief, Tribal Council
       Representative, Director of Social Services, School Superintendent, Director of Tribal Mental
       Health

       TYP:

       Category 1 (Provide prevention services to impact risk factors for delinquency): Director
       of tribal agency program providing after school/weekend activities (Tribal Community Center,
       Director of Social Services, Director of School District Counseling Program, School
       Superintendent, Tribal Council Representative
       Category 2 (Provide interventions for court-involved tribal youth): Juvenile Tribal Court
       Judge, Lead Tribal Prosecutor, Lead Tribal Probation Officer, Tribal Police Chief, Tribal Council
       Representative

       Category 3 (Improve the tribal juvenile justice system): Chief Tribal Court Judge, Chief of
       Police, Tribal Council Representative, Director of Social Services

       Category 4 (Provide alcohol and drug abuse prevention programs): Director of Tribal
       Substance Abuse Program, Director of Tribal Mental Health, Director of Social Services, Tribal
       Council Representative, School Superintendent

       Category 5 (Provide mental health program services): School Superintendent, Director of
       Tribal Mental Health, Director of IHS Mental Health Services, Director of Contract Mental Health
       Services (if applicable), Director of Social Services, Tribal Council Representative

A block of rooms has been reserved for meeting participants at the special discounted rate of $88.00
per night, plus tax (for a single, non-smoking room).

To make your reservations at this special rate, please call the hotel directly at: 505-988-2811 or
General Reservation at 800-HILTONS (800-445-8667) and reference that you are part of the “OJJDP
Tribal Youth Strategic Planning Meeting” room block.

The last day to make room reservations at the discounted rate is Sunday January 10, 2010. The
cost of the room will increase if you do not register by the deadline date.

Hotel Parking:
There is on-site parking for $5 daily. Self- parking fee also included in/out privileges.
Travel Information:
Please arrange your travel to arrive by Monday evening, January 25th and depart the hotel after 1:30
on Thursday, January 28th. It is recommended that you fly into Albuquerque International Sunport and
take a shuttle to/from Santa Fe.

Road Runner Shuttle:

Reservations are required for both shuttle companies. Please do NOT try to flag down a Sandia
XPress or Road Runner Shuttle.

Meals and Materials:

There are no registration fees to attend the OJJDP Strategic Planning meeting. All training materials
are provided by OJJDP.

A continental breakfast will be provided on all days during the morning work sessions. Participants have
been given an hour and 15 minutes for lunch; please see the attached list of restaurants within walking
distance of the hotel.

Participants are responsible for their own travel, hotel and all other meals. The daily per diem
rate for Santa Fe, New Mexico (and surrounding areas) is $71; first/last days are 75% of the daily rate
