Bradley, Esq. began her distinguished career as a trial lawyer after graduating from UNM School of Law in 1972 and clerking with the Honorable Edwin L. Mechem. She tried solo 37 civil jury trials in the following 6 years. In 1980 she and Gordon McCulloch formed Bradley & McCulloch believed to be the first insurance defense firm with a woman as a named partner. In 2000, Sarah was presented the Distinguished Achievement Award by the UNM School of Law and in 2007 she was presented the Distinguished Service Award by the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association. After practicing law for almost 30 years and having tried 70 jury trials to conclusion as first chair, Sarah and her partner closed the firm at the end of 1999. She now spends her time traveling, conducting mediations, shooting competitively, and dancing tango. JoAnn Erikson is a jury and litigation consultant who concentrates her practice in jury selection as well as conducting and moderating focus groups and mock trials. With over 30 years’ experience in the legal profession, Ms. Erikson has been involved in jury selection in hundreds of trials throughout New Mexico, Colorado, Texas & California (98% resulted in favorable verdicts for her clients). In addition, Ms. Erikson participates in all aspects of witness preparation for depositions as well as trials. Having conducted hundreds of post‐trial juror interviews, Ms. Erikson has a thorough knowledge of juror biases, likes and dislikes. As part of the jury selection process, Ms. Erikson does an extensive amount of work on preparing appropriate voir dire questions to identify and remove jurors likely biased against a given case/client, and most importantly developing ways to avoid exposing jurors most favorable to her client.
