The Brilliance Found In James Dean Movies In the late years of the 1950's, an actor named James Dean arose. Though many people know the name, most of them don't know the man behind it. He was slowly gaining his stardom and earning a famous reputation in Hollywood when he passed on due to a tragic motor accident. You might be thinking that James Dean's popularity was because he had a number of great films. But James Dean only appeared in seven films and only three of which had his name in the credits. But he was the only actor who was nominated for an Academy Award after his death; not once, but twice. In the United States he became a cult figure because of his brilliant performance in the movies 'Rebel without a Cause' and 'Giant'. 'Rebel without a Cause' is one of the earlier Dean movies that gave this talented man a public image. The movie, 'Rebel without a Cause' was one of the best and most accurate films depicting the youth's restlessness. Because of James Dean's performance in 'Rebel without a Cause', the actor received a part in the movie 'Giants', which had proven to be his very last film. One of James Dean movies, 'Rebel without a Cause', is a 1955 drama film that circled around the lives of middle-class, suburban teens who appear to be emotionally confused. Nicholas Ray directed the film that offered a social commentary as well as an alternative to previous films that depicted the urban slum delinquents. This movie has earned itself a place in preserved films in the US Library of Congress's National Film Registry because it had proven itself a historically, aesthetically and culturally significant movie. The movie, Giant was Dean's last movie where he played a supporting role with Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson. The movie, 'Giant', directed by George Stevens, was a film adaptation of Edna Ferber's novel and released in the year after Dean's death, 1956. Because of this movie, he had earned his very last Academy award nomination and in the year of 2005 'Giant' was chosen to be preserved - just like the movie 'Rebel without a Cause' - in the National Film Registry. The James Dean movies have made an impact on the audience and even in his passing, left his mark of brilliance and success. His legacy has influenced the success and drive of many, and for that we thank him. From the only producer to have read Jame's Dean Diary.
