Subject:      Administrator’s Reference Manual Updates


Enclosed are the 2008-2010 updates for the CDE Child Nutrition Program
Administrator’s Reference Manual. These updates are intended to replace
existing pages in your manual.

A summary of the changes is as follows:
Section 1, page 1, CDE staff updates;
Section 2, entire section to remove old forms;
Section 3, page 1-5, updated #6 on page one, USDA Eligibility Manual
website location, Waiver of Confidentiality and added Consent Statement
requirements;
Section 5, entire section, updated to current reimbursement amounts;
Section 6, pages 5-6, removed box on 6.6;
Section 8, entire section, updated deadline schedule, new menu
worksheets/production record and CDE 5 report instructions;
Section 9, entire section, SNAP replaces Food Stamps throughout, PK Even
Start eligible for free meals;
Section 9 DC, entire section, SNAP replaces Food Stamps throughout,
categorical eligibility of siblings not on direct certification printout, record
layout added;
Section 9 HS, entire section, all federally funded Head Start participants and
state-funded PK in Head Start are eligible for free meals;
Section 10, entire section, cannot ask all families for income verification at
time of application, SNAP replaces food stamps, verification pool number taken
at end of business on Oct. 1;
Section 12, pages 101-114, Nutrient Standard Menu Planning (NSMP)
replaces NuMenus, updated web address for USDA approved nutrient analysis
software;
Section 12, page 120, removal of outdated list of nutrient analysis software
programs;
Section 13.1, entire section, new milk substitution information, Q & A and
updated physician’s form for disabled students;
Section 14, entire section, Afterschool Care Snack Program replaces
Afterschool Snack Program, expanded eligibility section & “open to all”
definition;
Section 16, entire section, updated FMNV list;
Section17, page 1, CDHS website;
Section 18, page 2, Charter School update;
Section 21.1, entire section, inclusion of HACCP, website updates;
Section 27, entire section, removed out-dated terms; and
Section 29, entire section, updated index
