SSC laser was established in 2000 as a spin-off business and has grown into a 35
employee Company supplying quick and friendly delivery of ferrous and non-ferrous
laser profiles to the British engineering industry.
The Directors of SSC laser have the vision of an aggressive growth programme by
way of rolling out the business by opening small two-laser factories all over the
country. At present the business has a Head Office at Hixon in Staffordshire with
manufacturing on site; we have recently set up a factory in Derby and have sales
offices in Sunderland and Slough.
Our success is mainly down to developing strong relationships with our customers
and providing quicker quotations than our competitors.

Job Specification
      Main day-to-day customer contact
      Generate and qualify sales leads.
      Man-manage employees who you become responsible for.
      Build a brand new start up business in line with the company vision &
       budgets.
      Achieve sales targets both on turnover and profit.
      Expand business with a view to establishing a manufacturing division within
       your given area.
      Work both on the road visiting customers & prospects as well as spending
       time working from an office.
      Answer all incoming enquiries within 3 rings
      Create quotations based on material, laser/machine time, set-up, minimum
       order bend time, second operations costs, transport (second ops and to
       destination)
      Convert enquiry (quotations) into order. Send order acknowledgements to
       customers
      Sell to credit worthy companies
      Ensure all drawing information is complete for CAD to produce drawings/parts
      Progress parts for your customers on the system
      Attain sub-con quotations and record at enquiry stage
      Check availability of material for high speed delivery commitment
      Give customers realistic lead times based on present capacity/material
       availability/transport/sub-con lead and task times to control customer
       expectations.
      Negotiate with Production Department when additional capacity is required
      Liaise with production to hand over customer quality complaints
      Follow-up any enquiries not converted to orders. Record any relevant
       information about ‘lost’ orders

      Some understanding or experience of engineering would be of distinct
       advantage.
