STUDENT CONDUCT
The Treadway Elementary School Behavior Plan, B.E.A.R.S., helps create a school environment that
ensures all students have the opportunity for academic, physical, social, and emotional growth. A structured,
consistent, and uniform action plan allows students to develop a positive self-image by giving the students the
ability to make good choices.
This plan will adhere to the concept that all students are capable of making appropriate choices and are
responsible for their own behavior and work. It is our experience that students who receive consistent, logical
and realistic rewards with consequences for their actions, learn that they have positive control over their lives.
Each grade level and special area including all specials, cafeteria and ELC have developed expected behaviors,
frequent rewards, and consistent consequences to fit the school-wide goals of Being polite and prepared,
Exercising safety, Accentuating the positive, Respect adults and peers, Speak at appropriate times.
B.E.A.R.S. will help students to develop the ability to exercise self-control and self-discipline both in
and out of school. We believe that appropriate action and behavior are critical in maintaining a positive,
productive, and rewarding school experience.
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
Two school-wide conference nights are scheduled for the end of the
first grading period and third grading period.
Throughout the year, additional conferences are encouraged to discuss
individual plans, progress, and concerns.
Teachers and staff are available to meet with parents to discuss student
progress at any time during the school year, if prior arrangements have
been made.
If you would like to speak with your child’s teacher, the front office
staff will be happy to take a message if the teacher is unavailable.
STUDENT AGENDAS
Every student in Grades 2-5 will be issued an Agenda/Planner. This is a great communication tool to help
parents keep in touch with teachers. It provides the one place parents, students and teachers can communicate,
interact and record all assignments. PLEASE check it daily! Its purpose is to help students understand
expectations, create timelines, set goals, monitor progress, and record their own success! Lost or destroyed
planners will need to be replaced at a cost of $5.00.
