 Director and administrator of the department’s Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic
(2003-present)
 Chair, Clinic Renovation Committee. Initiated work on a proposal to renovate the Speech-
Language-Hearing Clinic. Lead committee meetings to assess long-term needs of the clinic
space as the department grows in faculty and student numbers (fall 2007-Fall 2009).
 TRACS faculty liaison for the department of CDIS, 2006 -2009.
 Provided on-site training to off campus practicum supervisors, covering the changes in
certification and accreditation standards, as well as documenting student achievement and
supervisor perceptions on preparedness (each academic term 2004-2009).
 Member, Spring Conference Committee. Attended planning meetings and provided input
in preparation of the annual spring conference hosted by the CDIS Department (fall 2007).
 Develop & maintain content and layout of the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic website
using the Gato content management system; (fall 2007-present).
 Chair, Proficiency Policy Committee. Lead a committee to write a policy and procedure
statement based on revised 2008 CAA standards (fall 2007).
 Led administration and clinical activities for the Clinic for Autism Research, Evaluation
and Support (CARES). CARES officially began conducting autism assessments in
September, 2007. Played a major role as community liaison; scheduled assessments;
coordinated assessment teams; supervised clinical teams during assessment; managed the
CARES budget; leadership role in development of the CARES Policy and Procedure
manual (fall 2007-spring 2009).
 Developed graphics and layout for a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the mission
and function of CARES. Administration in the College of Education and Department of
Communication Disorders used this PowerPoint in their presentations to the academic
Deans and potential donors (spring 2007).
 Developed marketing brochures and flyers in partnership with University Marketing for
the CARES project. (fall 2007).
 Member of the Graduate Admissions Committee for the Department of Communication
Disorders (2004-2007).
 Coordinated and scheduled teleconference sessions between off campus practicum
supervisors and CAA site visitors to assist in verification of program standards (Spring
2007).
 Coordinated a meeting between the CAA site visitor team and members of the San
Marcos, university, and clinic communities to assist with verification of program standards
(Spring 2007).
 Coordinated clinical observation visits for Dr. Lim, visiting nurse educator, while he
shadowed various faculty members in the Department of Communication Disorders (fall
2007).
 Member of the Safety and Building Maintenance Committee for the College of Health

local private facilities, Spring 2005, and 2006
 Guest speaker for both the NSSLHA and SERTOMA student organizations on campus.
 Collaborated on development and implementation of student electronic/digital portfolios
for measuring student outcome (fall 2004-spring 2007).

C. Community:
 Co-facilitator of 2 local support groups consisting of parents with special-needs children
(Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, etc). Also participate as a guest speaker on
selected topics (2005-present).
 Team Leader of the SMCISD Parent Advisory and Resource Committee (PARC). This
committee is charged with representing parents of, and special needs children, to the
SMCISD Superintendent’s office. The committee works closely with the directors of
Special Education to develop programs that support parents in the IEP and ARD
processes. (2008-present).
 Regional Advisory Committee member representing Hays County of the Texas Council on
Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders. (2006-present)
 Co-facilitated an 8 week parent training workshop for parents of developmentally delayed
children, Summer and Fall 2004; Spring & Summer 2005.
 Participated in “Discovering disAbilities”. A day-long event at a San Antonio elementary
school that focused on increasing sensitivity and acceptance of individual differences;
Spring 2005 and Spring 2006.
 Guest Speaker at the local SERTOMA chapter luncheon, Spring 2005.

 Texas Speech-Language and Hearing Association member of the Competency-Based University
Training Task Force (2004 – present)
 Texas Speech-Language and Hearing Association member of the University Supervisors Task
Force. Contributed to developing a training module for new and veteran clinical
supervisors (2007-2008).
 Piloted the administration and scoring of the CCC-2, a new diagnostic tool used to identify
non-verbal communication disorders (fall 2006).
