Executive Board Meeting Minutes
November 16, 2006

Bruce Sliney reported that Stephanie Teamer was unable to attend the meeting. He will contact her for an
updated treasurer’s report which will be sent to the members of the Executive Board.
Income taxes for 2005 have been filed and the accountant requested that we develop a conflict of interest
policy for our organization.
Karen Dickerson suggested that we inquire of OACAC about their conflict of interest policy. Bruce
Sliney said that he would contact this group for further information.
Bruce reported that he had spoken at the OACRAO conference in Toledo and had updated their members
on state-wide transfer initiatives, TAGs, etc.
Bruce reported that he had received an invitation to attend the Institute for the Study of Transfer Students
scheduled for January 28-30 in Fort Worth, Texas.
A vote was taken and the Board approved spending OTC funds for any Executive Board member to
attend this conference. Only registration fees would be covered. The other costs would need to be paid
by the member’s home institution. Kathy Prukno, David Axsom, Bruce Sliney and Kimberlee Avery
expressed an interest in attending the conference. Early bird registration is due by January 5.
President Elect’s Report:
David Axsom had no items to report.
Kimberlee Avery reported that the Conference Committee met in early November and determined the
theme “Be a Key Player in the Transfer Game”. Subcommittees have been formed and another meeting
will be held in mid-December at the University of Akron.
The Board approved spending OTC funds to pay for hotel rooms and mileage for guest speakers and for
two $200 stipends to be paid for registration and graphic design. An invitation was extended to and
accepted by Troy Holladay, Ball State University, to serve as the keynote speaker and to speak on updates
regarding federal and state legislation regarding transfer issues. The OBOR staff will be invited to
present updated information on state-wide transfer initiatives. The OTC scholarship recipients will be
invited to participate in a panel discussion and to be recognized at the conference lunch.

Karen Dickerson announced that there will be three officers elected this year – President-Elect, Treasurer-
Elect, and Secretary. Elections will take place in early 2007. An email was sent out requesting nominees
for these offices in mid-November.
Hideo Tsuchida announced the members of the Scholarship Committee: Mary Ann English, Baldwin-
Wallace; Stacy Watts, Cleveland Scholarship Programs; Celeste Goodloe, Xavier Unversity.
Hideo discussed ways to publicize these scholarships. It was determined that an email reminder will go to
all OTC member schools linking them to the poster/application materials on the Cleveland Scholarship
web site. Stacy Watts will provide updates from Cleveland Scholarship Programs throughout the year
about the progress of the application process for the applications.
Linda Arnest reported that the next meeting of the Articulation Committee will be held on December 5 in
Columbus. She will update the Board at the next meeting.
The next meeting of the Ohio Transfer Council Executive Board will be held on Thursday, February 8 at
10:00 a.m. It is tentatively scheduled for the Ohio State Library. Bruce Sliney will send out updated
location information when it is available.
