PROPOSED DRESS CODE

Clean, neat apparel without rips, holes or tears is required at all times. All apparel must be
considered to be in good taste.
Players must wear sleeved shirts. Sweats, warm-up suits, or jogging suits are not allowed. Tank
tops, halter tops, and swimwear are prohibited.
Men must wear long pants, either dress pants or jeans. Women may wear dress pants, Capri-style
pants, jeans, culottes, skirts or sleeved dresses of conservative length. Shorts and cut-offs are
Apparel must cover the waistline to avoid exposure of midriffs.
Closed-toed shoes are required at all times. If a player requires a footwear exception for medical
reasons, the player must provide a letter on official letterhead from the player’s health care
provider before the tournament, present this letter to the tournament director, and keep a copy of
this letter in his/her possession at all times, to be available for review by a referee, if requested.
Mixed scotch doubles and teams competition
In addition to the requirements above, matching team shirts are preferred, but not mandatory.
The dress code will be in effect and enforced at all times when on the main tournament floor.
Any player found in violation of the dress code during match play will be given 15 minutes to
correct the violation and return to the match site. If the player is not back in 15 minutes, the
player will lose one game of the match and will lose one additional game for each additional 5
minutes until s/he returns. A team captain may not substitute another player for a player found in
violation of the dress code until after the player returns in proper attire.
Players must lodge any protest of an opponent’s dress code before a match begins.
Referees are the final authority on dress code violations.
