                                                      Meeting Report
                                                      March 15, 2012

Organization:

Architecture and Design:

       Year 38 CDBG awarded $143,235.00 this will be used for Phase 3 of the Streetscape
       Forest Inn owner looking at possible coffee shop tenant
       Phase 2 of the Streetscape timeline will be set at the March COG meeting

Business Development:

       A new tanning salon has opened at 728 Broadway.


Community Life:

       All plans are solidified for the Easter on Broadway event March 25.
       Date for community clean-up is April 21

Special Topic

       The CMU students gave an update on their findings.
       Darija Wiswell of ACHD presented on Livable Streets: the Path to a Healthier Community. She emphasized the
        Power of the “P” strategies, Promotion, Programs, Projects, and Policies. As part of her presentation she
        discussed the grant application and what it could be used for, and that this year it would primarily fall into the
        Promotion and Programs strategies.

These two presentations took up the majority of the meeting and other business was moved into April.

            5.   Send meeting reminder for next meeting.
            6.   Provide copies of report/agenda for next meeting.
7. Assemble talking points for Ray for April Township meeting.
