THE NATIONAL DEFENCE UNIVERSITY IS COMMITTED TO
CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT OF OPEN AND FRANK EXCHANGE
OF VIEWS ON ISSUES RELATED TO THE SECURITY OF PAKISTAN.
TO PROMOTE CANDOR AND OPEN DISCUSSION, A POLICY OF
ABSOLUTE NON-ATTRIBUTION IS FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES
AND APPLIES TO ALL WHO ATTEND THE WORKSHOP.
COMMENTS AND OPINIONS EXPRESSED BY ANY PARTICIPANT
WILL NOT BE ATTRIBUTED TO ANYONE AND QUOTED OUTSIDE
THE UNIVERSITY PREMISES WITHOUT SPEAKER’S EXPLICIT
1. Location. The UNIVERSITY is located in Sector E-9 Islamabad,
adjacent to Pakistan Air Force and Naval Complex.
2. Reception. Reception desks will be established from 6 July 2003 at
the UNIVERSITY building for necessary guidance on your arrival. Details
of accommodation (for those staying on campus) and the study package will
be delivered to you on arrival at the reception. For further information,

a. Desirous participants will be provided fully furnished single
accommodation at the UNIVERSITY Campus, free of cost
(utility bills will be charged). You are requested to intimate
whether you would prefer to stay at your own arrangements or
at the UNIVERSITY Campus, to Lieutenant Colonel
Muhammad Arshad GSO-1 (Research).
b. If you wish to stay at the UNIVERSITY campus, the details of
your accommodation will be available at the reception desk.
The plan of accommodation for your drivers/attendants will
also be available with the reception. You may arrive on 6 July
03, so as to comfortably settle down.
4. Messing. Messing facilities are available at nominal charges in the
officer’s mess of the UNIVERSITY. Drivers/attendants will be provided
food free of cost at the soldiers’ mess.
5. Introductory Lecture. In addition to the schedule of training,
volunteer participants will be asked to speak for 30 minutes, on area of
expertise, from second week onwards. The participants are requested to
come prepared accordingly.
6. Dress for Gents. Following dress can be worn during the

Qameez with waist coat.
b. Military : Uniform
7. Communication. UNIVERSITY is linked to Civil and Army circuits
throughout the country. A military telephone connection has been provided
at residence in the campus for each participant.
8. Sports/ Recreation Facilities. Following facilities are available for
the participants: -
a. Tennis. UNIVERSITY has 3 x Clay Courts with
floodlights and operative from 1700 hours to 2200 hours
b. Gymnasium. Pakistan Navy’s Gymnasium with number
of exercise facilities is available in the vicinity and remains
open all days of the week.
c. Golf. PAF Golf Club (a nine holes golf course) is located in
PAF Complex about 2 kilometers from NDC. Remains open all
days of the week.
d. Squash. PAF has 2 x International Standard Squash Courts
adjacent to PAF Golf Course.
e. Jogging Track. The facility is available in Fatima Jinnah
Park (Sector F/9) near Shaheen Chowk.
f. Hiking/ Trekking. A number of trails over Margalla
Hills have attraction for hikers.
g. Swimming. Pakistan Navy Swimming Pool (near Shaheen
Chowk) remains open from 1800-2000 hours daily except
