Description of class: This course draws connections between all aspects of the
statistical process. Topics to be covered include exploring data, sampling and
experimentation, anticipating patterns, probability, and statistical inference. Course
content covers all of the curricular requirements set by the College Board and has been
approved by the College Board for AP credit.
Grading: Semester grades will be determined according to the handbook with the first
quarter being 40%, the second quarter 40% and the exam counting 20% for the fall
semester. All students are expected to take the AP exam in the spring. Grades for the
spring will be 50% third quarter and 50% fourth quarter. Grades will be based on a total
point basis. You may calculate your average at any time by dividing your points earned
by points available and multiplying by 100. You are expected to login to Powerschool to
obtain your average and missing assignments. Please notify me of any discrepancies.

3) Barron’s AP Statistics workbook purchased from Study Source
4) Inexpensive set of headphones to be left at school
Honor code: At the end of every test or quiz, you will be asked to sign a statement
that you have not given or received help on the assessment and that you will not discuss
it. Remember that our objective is to become better servants of Christ.
Additional Information: Please remember this is a college level class. All students
are required to take the AP exam in May instead of 2nd semester exam. This course
requires thought and study. Practice problems, notes and other information will be
posted on the internet by going to the class website.
