Peewee Checking Clinic
The Lake Bonavista Hockey Program is operating a mandatory checking clinic for first year Peewee players and
anyone new to checking on August 28- 30 between 6:30 and 8:45 on the small ice surface at Lake Bonavista.
Each player will receive two hours of instruction on checking including safety, learning to give a check and
learning to take a check. This is mandatory for all first year peewee players (excluding goalies) so not everyone
has to be registered for the program.
Regardless of whether or not your child has played in spring hockey and played in a checking environment, these
sessions are mandatory. The reason for this is to ensure the safety of the players and to have a common theme or
message for players moving into the Peewee age group.
Players who do not take the checking clinic will not be permitted to participate in evaluations in Lake Bonavista.
This may appear harsh but we are taking the issue of checking very seriously.
The cost for the clinic is $25.00.
