Paul Clark
Paul has been Corporate Director of Children’s Services for Harrow Council since October 2003,
where he is chairs the Local Safeguarding Children Board and the Children’s Trust Partnership

Paul qualified as a social worker in Northamptonshire and has led nationally on child protection for
the Social Services Inspectorate, was seconded to manage Cleveland Social Services Children and
Families following the ‘crisis’ and was Deputy Director, Children, Schools and Families for

Paul is a board member of the Child Exploitation Online Protection Centre (CEOP), on the education
group of the UK Council for Internet Safety, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a past member of
the Family Justice Council.

Betty Lynch
Betty Lynch, is the strategic lead for Harrow Children’s partnerships. She is from a health
background in nursing, health visiting and midwifery. Betty has a special interest in partnership
working in the complex area of safeguarding and child protection, and in managing the multi-agency
responses to serious complex issues, in particular child deaths.

Betty has developed Harrow Children’s Trust and LSCB governance, quality assurance programme
and infra structure to support integrated delivery. She is author of “A handbook of research for social
workers “ and various journal articles on partnership working and has presented at national and
international conferences on a variety of related topics all in the field of partnership working.

Gail Hancock
Gail is currently the Head of Service for Safeguarding, Family Placement and Support in Harrow
Council, Children's Services having joined back in May 2005. She is a qualified social worker and
registered with the General Social Care Council. Gail has worked for some 23 years in the social care
field. For the last 17 years she has been employed in a number of Local Authorities in London and
one Shire county providing statutory services to children in need and their families.

Gail has held a variety of positions over the years including Social Worker, Team Manager,
Independent Reviewing Officer and Child Protection Chair and continues to be enthused and
motivated by the complexity, challenge and reward of the work.

Farzana Aldridge
Farzana Aldridge, Senior School Improvement Professional - with strategic leadership responsibility
for the Harrow Good to Outstanding initiative, school workforce development, leadership
development, AST provision and Able, Gifted and Talented strategy.

Prior to Harrow Farzana worked in senior roles in a number of different local authorities including in
Bristol as Strategy Leader for School Improvement, in Milton Keynes as Assistant Director for Early
Years and Access, in Peterborough as Quality Assurance Officer, and in Northamptonshire as Head
of Curriculum Services and Training.

Farzana has been a teacher, headteacher, advisory headteacher and an Ofsted inspector

Paulette Lewis
Paulette is a Senior Education Welfare Office, with responsibility for school safeguarding in the
team. I provide twilight and inset child protection training to whole school staff, handle allegations
against school staff in the LADO role, provide safeguarding support to schools and have lead
responsibility for Elective Home Education

Ruth McGill
Started work in Harrow last August as a Senior School Improvement Professional. School
Improvement Partner to a range of First, Middle and Primary Schools in Harrow and I am the LA lead
on assessment and Ofsted
