should not be missed. Aptly dubbed “Festival City” of Canada, it offers a

gardens and scenic landscapes.
Valley Zoo is for animal lovers housing more than one hundred endangered
Elk Island National Park is a photographer’s paradise and home to a number
of bird and animal species. There are plenty of skiing and hiking trails.

TELUS World of Science has an amazing IMAX Theatre that shows
fascinating films from all over the world. Near this is an excellent
planetarium called the Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre.
John Janzen Nature Centre which has a delightful indoor play area to teach
children about nature.
Sports is a major part of the tourist attraction in Edmonton and there is NHL
hockey, CFL football, the Indy car racing, horse racing, Rexall Indy, Canadian Finals
Rodeo and more.The locals also enjoy a number of excellent recreational
activities throughout the year including swimming, golfing, skateboarding,
daycamps and more.
In terms of entertainment, there is no dearth of exhibitions, shows and concerts.
The Capital Ex is an annual ten day event in July at the Northlands Park and
features concerts, parades, games, rides and lots of fun. This celebrates the 1890
Klondike Gold rush. Heritage Festival in August has over sixty cultural pavilions
celebrating crafts, foods and culture from all over the world. Folk festival in
August is an annual music event with performers from all over the globe.
