Information can be drawn from a relevant Job Description/Job Profile To assist in delivering the Land Drainage Service / Lead Local Flood Authority duties, producing solutions to drainage problems and all matters relating to flood risk management. To assist in delivering sustainable development through the Planning, Building Control and SuDS Approval Body systems To ensure your work area makes maximum contribution to the regeneration of Bradford and the achievement of a sustainable Metropolitan District. To use technical knowledge and experience of flood risk assessment development work to design SUDS and other drainage schemes in accordance with the EU Water Framework, Floods and Habitats Directives: UK Flood Risk Regulations 2009 and Flood & Water Management Act 2010. 2. To evaluate and comment on relevant planning, building control and sab applications in relation to SUDS and other drainage issues. 3. To design, prepare contract documentation, procurement and site supervision of drainage schemes 4. To identify and prepare training courses for personal use with the aim of furthering and improving their knowledge and abilities in all aspects of capital scheme delivery. 5. To undertake research into all matters for which a technical or legal solution is required. 6. To undertake specific tasks as directed by the Development Services Manager, The Principal Drainage Engineer, or The Senior Engineer (Drainage). 7. To assist in providing 24 hour call out for drainage emergencies and incidents of flooding. 8. Assist effective communication and provide feedback to the Senior Engineer (Drainage). 9. Liaison with officers in other sections of the authority. 10. To provide The Senior Engineer (Drainage) with technical advice relating to planning, building regulation and land drainage matters. 11. To liaise with and give advice to council members, other council sections, consulting engineers, civil engineering contractors, developers and the general public on matters relating to general drainage matters. 12. To liaise with and exchange information on drainage matters with staff in other parts of The Service.
