PURPOSE OF THE POST:
To provide reception, cashier, security, administration and support services at Bernard
Morgan House to ensure a safe, comfortable and functional environment for the residents,
guests and other users. To provide administrative support for maintenance management.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide first line control of security, fire safety and maintenance of Bernard
Morgan House and its grounds, which accommodates up to 110 City of London
Police officers and guests from other Forces, both domestic and international. This
will involve working on a shift basis including some weekends, bank holidays and
To act as a receptionist in dealing with approximately 10,000 accommodation
enquiries annually, assisting all guests and visitors during their stay and presenting a
friendly and professional image.
To perform the role of Maintenance Helpdesk Operator, logging and actioning all
maintenance requests throughout the Force, directing them to the appropriate place,
monitoring response times and chasing up contractors.
To collect, record and keep secure annual income revenues of approximately
£300,000 for accommodation, services and amenities.
To provide assistance as required by the Manager and Assistant Manager, such as
administration tasks, banking of revenue, purchasing of provisions and moving of
furniture and hardware.
To deal with all front line communication for the building, via mail, email, fax and
To maintain and monitor records and inventories for the building and its users, on
paper and computer.
To be responsible for the security of the building, checking ID and issuing passes to
all visitors, including guests and contractors.
To patrol the building, monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
To assist the Maintenance Assistants on occasions with ad hoc building maintenance
To perform the roles of Fire Marshal, Energy Officer, Risk assessor and first Aid
Officer, for which training will be provided if necessary.
