Dear Buljan Family,
Greetings! I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new students,
parents and guardians to the “Buljan Middle School Family”, as well as welcome back
our returning families. I hope that all of you have had a safe and restful summer
vacation and that you are looking forward to the upcoming 2012-2013 school year as
much as I am. School begins Tuesday, August 21st, at 9:05am and will dismiss at
ORIENTATION NIGHT for all sixth grade students and new incoming seventh and
eighth graders will be Thursday, August 16th, beginning at 6:00pm in the

schedules and textbooks will be distributed, maps of the campus will be available so

PTC Scrip: Support Buljan by purchasing scrip for all of your shopping needs.
Returning students may purchase items listed above beginning Tuesday, August 21st.
Basic School Supplies: Backpack, at least one 2½” 3-ring binder, dividers, binder
paper, pencils, colored pencils, erasers, pens, highlighters, glue sticks, ruler and a
Department specific supply lists will be handed out on the first day of school.
**Schedule Distribution 7th/8th
8th Grade Students: Tuesday, August 14th, 8:00am to 12:00pm.
7th Grade Students: Wednesday, August 15th, 8:00am to 12:00pm.
Textbooks will be distributed during these times. Please be prepared to transport
them home. (Planners will also be sold for $6.00).
**Schedules will be withheld if any documentation is missing; such as, emergency
cards, immunizations or verification of residence. Students unable to pick up class
schedules at the designated time will pick them up on the first day of school,
Tuesday, August 21st.
BULJAN ATHLETICS: Athletes in the Roseville City School District must maintain
grades above 70% in all of their classes at all times. Our district and school stress
“academics before athletics”, and we want students to understand the meaning of a
“student/athlete”. A student must also have a minimum of 85 merits to participate and
must not be on a probationary contract. Merits and grades carry over from the
previous year. Students must have the blue “After School Athletic Participation
Clearance Form” completed prior to tryouts for any after school athletic program.
Forms are available from the coaches, in the school office, or from the P.E.
department. Once the team has been selected, a Field Trip Permission Form and a
$50.00 athletic donation must be given to coaches prior to the first game.
GIRL’S VOLLEYBALL 7th / 8th:
7thGrade: Wednesday, 8/15, Friday, 8/17 and Monday, 8/20: 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
8th Grade: Wednesday, 8/15, Thursday, 8/16, Friday, 8/17 and Monday, 8/20:
3:30pm to 5:30pm.
Practice for teams begin Tuesday, August 21st, 3:30pm – 5:30pm
FLAG FOOTBALL 7th/8th: Tuesday, August 21st through Friday, August 24th:
3:30pm – 5:30pm. Further information will be given on

CROSS COUNTRY 6th / 7th / 8th: Cross Country is not a tryout sport; however, athletic
eligibility must still be met. Cross Country practice begins when school is in session
from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. Future information will be available on the website and the

Mondays: 9:05am with dismissal at 1:53pm.
Tuesday through Friday: 9:05am with dismissal at 3:15pm.
The school office will open on Monday, August 6th, from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
