PRESS INFORMATION FROM AIXAM LTD.
Aixam A.751
Facts
The Aixam A.751 is a low environmental-impact passenger vehicle designed
specifically for city and short-hop travel-to-work commuting. Offering 2 +2
seating in a vehicle whose overall length is less than 3 metres, the A.1751
uses a constantly-variable single-lever control transmission coupled to a 479
cc Kubota diesel.
This combination delivers low exhaust emissions with a 50 MPH maximum
that is in tune with recent moves towards implementing lower speed limits
taken by many UK metropolitan authorities.
Thanks to a low overall kerb weight of only 380 Kg, the A.751 can deliver fuel
economy figures of 80 MPG. Pricing remains to be finalised, but is expected
to start at £7,500 on the road, including a 2 year warranty.
Specification still remains comprehensive, with a digital dashboard, electric
windows and an anti-theft system. Rack and pinion steering is fitted, and
McPherson strut front, and fully-independent trailing arm rear suspension.
Benefiting from Aixam’s long European experience in designing cars of this
type, the A.751 employs an aluminium chassis and occupant safety cell, clad
in impact-resistant polycarbonate panels. (The Aixam is the only quadricycle
to have passed European crash testing). Aluminium is a readily-recyclable
metal, with the ABS acrylic materials used for the vehicle’s body available for
granulation and ultimate re-use at end-of-life.
Aixam Ltd. is the UK distributor for the Aixam A.751, manufactured by Aixam
Mega in a purpose-built plant at Aix-les-Bains, France.
