“A very old lady in a Rest Home in Florida was a Gleed before marriage. She had come to the USA in
1901 with two brothers. All were from Malmesbury. William Gleed settled in Winnipeg, Canada and
Ernest George Gleed in Philadelphia PA.”

NEW ZEALAND

On 21my1895 Ambrose W Gleed departed London on ship ‘Ruapehi’ on Contract Ticket number 217 to
travel to Auckland NZ. He was identified as an English engineer born in 1855 and aged 40.
The ship subsequently called at Plymouth, Tenerife and Cape Town and arrived Wellington on
19jn1895.

land running east into the woods beginning at an Indian path which goeth over the head of that branch.
Due for trans. [Not clear whether or not this is an abbreviation of ‘transportation’ or some other word]
of 30 [named ] persons including Tho. Gleed.
20ap1667. Curtis LAND is granted 457.75 acres by supposition part in Chas. And James Citty County
