Juvenile Justice offices, 701Cortez Road West, Bradenton, FL 34205 on Thursday, June 21, 2012
at 11:00 a.m.

I. Call to Order – Greg Clark, Chairperson
Meeting was called to order at 11:00 am

C. Approval of Minutes – April 2012 Minutes were approved
D. Presentation / Roundtable Discussion: Victor Woods- Motivational Speaker

III. Committee Reports
A. Circuit Board Report April May- Rob Tabor will remain the circuit chair. Desoto
Council will become a committee of the consortium rather than remain a council. Desoto
will no longer me a council member. Bylaws will be amended to reflect changes as
B. Gang Initiative – Lt. Edwin B. Kelly - Frank Gargett will remain active in the gang
initiative. There will be paint outs scheduled and we will be notified of the dates.
There may be two MCSO sergeants taking over the program. When this is decided the
names will be shared with council members.
IV. Business – Old and New
A. Circuit Manager’s Report – Rena Hunkeler for Virginia Donovan
Vacancies: 2 vacancies with current candidates going through the hiring process
and they will be filled by June 29th, 2012. Don James is retiring today. One vacancy
will be open at that point.
Day Treatment: Paxon Learning Inc will be taking over the services that were
provided by AMI Kids. Changes effective as of July 1st. No summer school, no evening
services. Will not be probation day treatment or conditional release. Will operate as
an alternative school.

Youth Recognition Luncheon 2012 was held last week and went very well.

B. Treasurer’s Report – Rena Hunkeler for Sandy Trieb
Sandy Trieb reported that there is a balance of $292.33 in the Manatee JJC
account now. Membership is $10 for individuals and $25 for businesses, dues
are collected in January.
C . Annual Membership forms & dues: Dues will be collected again in January.
Membership forms are due. They were handed out for members to complete and return.
D. Nominations and Election of Officers: The following nominations were made:
Vice Chair: Detective Brian Hall & Treasurer: Richard Smallkoski. The following

E. Schedule for 2012-2013 meetings: Meetings will remain the same. They will be
held every other month.
D. Announcements, Program Updates and Matter from the Floor Greg Clark-
changes effective as of July 1st. No summer school, no evening services. Will not be
probation day treatment or conditional release. Will operate as an alternative school.
VI. Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 12:00 pm, next meeting to be held on August
