8/29 The City of Owensboro needs a few temporary workers. We would send them
through a temp agency like we do all of our other temporary workers. With the
response we have received at Smothers Park since opening we know we are going to have
to staff it for trash pickup, restroom cleaning and stocking, miscellaneous labor, etc. at
least for the short term. The sprayground will likely be open until the middle of September
at the minimum. I think we are looking at extended staffing hours through September in
my opinion. If someone is interested, you could give them my e-mail address and have them
         contact me.
For clarity, it's not going to be a position where they could work on homework while they
work. There would be something for them to do all the time. Some slower than other.

8/6/12 I need someone on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to be at my house (in Spring Bank
across from Daviess County High) by about 3pm. They will assist Kelsey (18, with mild
mental and developmental disabilities) with reading and math, and generally be a
companion. If they have errands to run she can go with them if they will work on social
skills or money skills or the like while they are out. On Thursdays they will have to take her
to the doctor's office for an allergy shot. While at the house with her if they are not working
on reading or math they may need to help her with chores like sorting laundry, washing the
dishes, taking care of her dog. I am home around 5 pm most days.
On days when I am out of town they may be asked to spend the night with her or could even
have her spend the night with them if they wish. She can ride the bus in the morning and
         leaves by 8 am.

This is through the Michele P waiver program and pays $13 an hour. If they have her
overnight they are paid $10 an hour from about 10 pm until she gets up the next morning,
then it goes back to $13. They will have to complete a criminal background check and go
         through an orientation.

If anyone is interested they may call me at 316-1927.
Please let me know if there is any other information you need.

         Students,

Every year the Governor’sScholars Program (GSP) is seeking applicants to
work for their summer program. GSP is seeking students to apply for both Resident
Advisors (RA’s) and Office Staff. Resident Advisors and Office Staff receive a minimum

Having worked there for 6 summers (both as an RA and with the Office Staff), I can attest that
is was one of the most amazing job experiences of my life. Those that attended GSP or have
RA experience are especially encouraged to attend. There are 3 sessions on three different
campuses (Centre College, Bellarmine University, and Murray State University) – sessions are
from June 17 to July 21, June 23 to July 27, and June 24 to July 28th.

Last year, KWC’s SGA President, Ryne Williams, was an RA on the Murray State campus.

If you are interested in applying to be an RA or Office Staff, please stop by Student Life and I
         can give you further details.
