Thelma M. Easterly
SOUTH DAYTON - Thelma M. Easterly, 85, a retired town clerk for the Town of
Villenova, where she worked for 23 years, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at Heritage
Village, Gerry, NY.
She was born April 20, 1926 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late Herman and Mildred
She worked at Pine Valley Central School as a secretary for a few years and also worked
as a clerk at Mc Millan's Department Store.
Thelma was a member of the South Dayton Free Methodist Church, where she taught
Sunday School and was Sunday School Superintendent. She was also member of the
Women’s Missions Society and Church Historian.
She is survived by two sons: Ricky A. Easterly of Rochester, NY, Kevin J. Easterly of
South Dayton, NY, a sister; June (Robert) Brown of Jamestown, NY, two nieces; Wendy
(Mike) Cummings of Mayville, NY, Jill L. (Steven) Hopkins of Jamestown, NY, a
nephew; Brent ( Anita) Brown of Jamestown, NY, and several great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Allen A. Easterly on March 24,
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at South Dayton Free
Methodist Church, Pine Street, South Dayton. The Rev. Melvin McGinnis of Kiantone
Congregational Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Villenova Cemetery in
Visitation will be held at Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Balcom Corners, South Dayton, NY on
Wednesday from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M.
