A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Vinta A.
Adams.
WHEREAS, Vinta A. Adams was born August 6, 1913, the daughter of the late
Wiley Jay and Nancy Honeycutt Amburgery, and departed from this life on March 27,
2008. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, former State Representative
Sidney Adams; four sisters, Lottie, Gerta, Dulcie, and Monie; and five brothers, Norris,
Delta, Gorman, Maynard, and Lester. She leaves behind one daughter, Nancy Pigman and
her husband, Roger; two sons, Stanley Adams and his wife, Erma; and Rudean Adams
and his wife, Sue; nine grandchildren, Paul and his wife, Anna; Tammy; Robin; Sandy
and her husband, Blake; Bryan and his wife, Melissa; Jill and her husband, Anthony;
Acacia and her husband, Bryan; Joshua; and Jordan and his wife, Heather; eight great-
grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Francis Amburgey; a host of nieces and nephews; and a
caregiver, Esther Gibson; and
WHEREAS, Vinta Adams was a deeply devoted wife and mother and was very
proud of her family. She filled her home with warmth and love and helped her husband
and children in every way she could. She also worked outside of the home as a teacher's
aide in the Knott County School System; and
WHEREAS, Vinta Adams loved her God and tried to live her life in accordance
with His teachings. She was a faithful member of the Little Dove Regular Baptist Church;
and
WHEREAS, Vinta Adams gave her many gifts and talents to help others have more
rewarding lives. Her passing has left a great void in the lives of those who knew and
loved her, and she will be greatly missed;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky:
Section 1. The Senate expresses its deepest sympathy upon the passing of Vinta

A. Adams and extends its most sincere condolences to her beloved family members and
countless friends.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving
memory of Vinta A. Adams.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit three copies of this
Resolution to Mr. Rudean Adams, Box 1198, Hindman, Kentucky 41822.
