Water pollution is a phenomenon that is now threatening the sustainability of the environment in
which we live. Examples of water pollution are numerous, the most dangerous is the contamination
of water due to industrial waste disposal or processing of waste material that is less than the
maximum so that the material can contaminate the environment, especially water.

Examples of industrial waste can be either liquid or solid materials discarded carelessly, could result
in water contaminated by chemicals in it. Components are most commonly found contaminants such
as waste material in the form of an oily liquid, soap waste, organic and non-organic waste materials,
insecticides, as well as radioactive substances.

Examples of water pollution can be seen on the lake or water sources contaminated by hazardous
substances, resulting in water being disturbed ecosystems. The impact of water pollution that most
feel is an imbalance in the ecosystem of the polluted environment, water quality is lowered, and the
impact on the health of the environment.

To prevent water pollution more widespread, it is necessary to control water pollution.
Countermeasures can be divided into two categories: technical countermeasures and non technical
countermeasures.

Technical countermeasures include actions of a company that processes waste pollutants, for
example by treatment of the wastewater, industrial process change and the impact of waste can be
reduced, and add equipment to reduce pollutants.

While the non-technical countermeasures system is to enact legislation to regulate and prevent
widespread contamination and oversee all expenditures industrial process waste materials.
