              Compare and Contrast Essay: Two Cultures of Asia
                               Guidelines
                          Choose two of the following countries:

                                China            India
                                Israel           Mongolia
                                Thailand         Saudi Arabia
                                Korea            Japan
                                Vietnam          Iran
                                Iraq             Cambodia

 Within every country there are several cultures. Once you have chosen your countries you
         will need to identify one specific culture within each country to research.

Choose two of the following features of culture to focus on in your essay.
    Food
    Customs/Rituals
    Laws/Government
    Religions
    Ethnic Groups
    How the physical environment effects dress/clothing

  It is important to remember that a compare and contrast research paper does not
                        give an opinion, it only states the facts.

All papers must be:
     In 12pt font
     In Times New Roman or Courier New
     Double Spaced
     A minimum of 2 pages typed (not including your works cited page)
     In MLA format
     Must have a works cited page

        You must use two electronic sources and one text source. These are minimum
                     requirements; you may always have more sources.

     We will be going to the computer lab on Monday April 2nd, Tuesday April 3rd, and
    Wednesday April 4th. On Monday you will be learning how to format a paper using
  Microsoft Word. On Tuesday and Wednesday you will be doing research for your paper.

 Please come to the computer lab with your topics already picked out; this will make
                               your research easier.
