Greensboro, NC (PRWEB) October 8, 2009 -- Joining the ranks of premier haunted attractions throughout the country, Woods of Terror reigns for the third consecutive year as one of "America's Best Haunts" for 2009. For 18 years, the Woods of Terror has been scaring thousands of young and old visitors alike. The Greensboro, N.C. attraction is expected to see more than 20,000 visitors this year. Highlights include free-roaming zombies and monsters (that may jump out from any corner), graveyard, and 18 re-enacted scenes from the most popular and terrifying film on the last decade. The newest attraction for 2009 is the Vampire House, including the Twilight Torture House. Always popular, vampires have seen a surge of popularity from Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" books and movie series. Other new, terrifying attractions at Woods of Terror are "Elements of Fear", a maze that exploits any phobia one can think of - bugs, spiders, snakes, just to name a few. The all new "Movie Maniacs" gives visitors the experience of being in their own horror movie and features more than 16 rooms with terrifying classic horror characters from Jason and Freddie Krueger to many more. Past crowd pleasers, "Blackbeard's Revenge" haunted pirate ship, "The Redneck Hayride" and "Heavy Metal Nightmare" also are back. Woods of Terror visitors experience vivid scenes through the use of movie-quality sets, special effects makeup, high tech props and lighting. More than 95 actors help transform the rural countryside into a frightening haunted trail worthy of any Hollywood movie set. Woods of Terror, who prides themselves on making "scary" their "Normal" business, will pull out every skeleton in the ground to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer survivors. This year, Woods of Terror is holding a special "Terror for Ta-Ta's" night Saturday, October 17th. The proceeds from the event will be donated to Moses Cone Health System Regional Cancer Center's "Find your New Normal" program for Breast Cancer Survivors. Breast Cancer Survivors will be on hand to join in on the fun. "Find Your New Normal" is a program offered for breast cancer survivors to help them make sense of it all when cancer treatments have concluded. "Studies have shown that stress is just as high when treatments have ended as when they were first diagnosed," says Tami Knutson, the Breast Program Coordinator at Moses Cone Health System's Regional Cancer Center in Greensboro.
