							POSITION: Executive Vice President

REPORTS TO: President

GENERAL FUNCTIONS: The Executive Vice President is responsible for leading the development
and implementation of effective programs in the areas of public affairs, communications, community
development and special events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

       Supervise the activities of the Chamber’s public affairs, communications, membership and
        community development/special events departments, placing a special emphasis on internal
        communications among staff.
       Establish and maintain contact with local government officials, presenting the Chamber’s
        policies and viewpoints on a regular basis.
       Provide staff support for the Local Issues Public Policy Task Force.
       Coordinate the planning and organization of annual Community Leadership Visits.
       Work in conjunction with Economic Development Department to identify and pursue
        international business development opportunities for the Springfield region.
       Coordinate the Chamber’s China program, including planning and organization of annual
        business development trade missions.
       Serve in an advisory capacity to the President and assist in long-range planning for the
        organization.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Supervise and evaluate the Vice President, Community
Development/Special Events; Vice President, Membership; Communications Manager and Public
Affairs Manager.

OTHER: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President.

SPECIAL DUTIES: Coordinate Chamber responsibilities when managing local issue campaigns.

CRITERIA/SKILLS REQUIRED:
       College degree
       Previous Chamber experience
       Strong communication and organizational skills
       Experience and ability in dealing with public officials and elected representatives
       Strong working knowledge of international business and political issues

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Exempt
