21St Century Skills for Teachers
Follow-up Report

There were several outcomes in Steamboat Springs School District after the 21st Century Skills

workshop. Technology Standards have been adopted and included in Atlas Rubicon Curriculum Mapping

software. This allows teachers to easily integrate these standards into the frameworks for units as they

are creating the units. Two positions within the technology department have been revised to focus on

technology integration within the curriculum. There is now a technology integration specialist that is

shared between the two elementary schools and another that is shared between the middle school and

high school. A Technology Scope and Sequence has been developed for our district that is utilized by

the technology integration specialists, media specialists, and teachers as we continue to align our skills

and knowledge with the new technology standards.

As the new technology integration specialists we worked with administrators to ensure that the

Technology Standards were adopted and included in Atlas Rubicon before our district wide staff

development day that focused on curriculum mapping. Last spring we created planning goals and then

this fall we re-wrote the job description and presented it to staff. We also revised the technology scope

and sequence to better reflect the concept that technology skills continue to develop and are never

truly mastered. The documents we created are attached to this summary. I look forward to continuing

to develop this position as the district curriculum continues to move forward with integration of

technology.
