JUDGING
Best in the SW has invited a panel of judges comprised of national and international animation and motion graphics experts to be responsible for the selection of this year’s winners. If the work of a 2007 Best in the SW judge is nominated for the Awards competition, he or she is required to withdraw from judging the category in which their work has been nominated. Best in the SW ensures that no judge votes upon his or her own work. Best in the SW nominations are judged in two rounds, by two separate panels of judges. All judges do not vote in all categories. This procedure has been implemented to ensure the widest possible range of aesthetic and personal preference while maintaining the honesty and integrity of the Best in the SW :: Flash Animation & Motion Graphics Awards. Entries will be judged in each of the categories defined above, as well as Best of Show. Depending on the category, judging criteria includes some or all of the following elements: - Creativity - Overall quality of the entry - Production/application of innovative techniques
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS
Two awards will be given in the People’s Choice category: 1) People’s Choice: Online Favorite and 2) People’s Choice: Best of Show.
People’s Choice: Online Favorites
This is a new category in our 2007 competition, and one we are very excited about. All entries will be uploaded to the Best in the SW :: Awards portal located at www.bestinthesw.com/festival/ Once the entry has been uploaded to the portal, it is eligible for this category. Visitors to the awards website can rate entries that have been uploaded. Nominees are encouraged to invite colleagues, friends, and family to rate their entry. At 12:00 AM (midnight) (MDT / GMT-6 ) September 10, 2007, ratings will no longer be accepted, and the entry with the highest rating at that time, will be deemed the winner of this category.
