   Have an extensive list of questions
   Start and end with easy questions

    questions in the middle

    interview
   Avoid questions that seem like an
    oral exam
   Avoid talking; focus on listening
   Use comfortable language
   Avoid explaining concepts; send
    materials in advance

   Avoid the use of “interesting”
   Gently lead back when off topic
   Misunderstanding is always
    researcher’s fault
   Avoid yes/no questions
   “Tell me a story” for narrative
   Avoid charged words/phrases (ex:
