                                        Town Sports International (TSI) is committed to providing our employees with the best education programs

Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA)

Personal Fitness Trainer Certification v3
A three-day certification workshop including lectures, practical demonstration, and written and practical exams. The curriculum
includes anatomy and kinesiology, fitness assessment testing procedures, nutrition fundamentals and weight management,
special populations and medical considerations, wellness programming and screening guidelines, and exercise programming
in the weight room. Includes study guide, workshop including lectures and practical demonstrations, written and practical
exams, and a one-year AFAA membership including a subscription to American Fitness magazine. Current CPR required before
certificate is issued.

Participants are encouraged to register at least four weeks prior to the workshop to allow for delivery of study materials

National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)

NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)
The NASM CPT course is a training package designed to give the fitness professional all the instructional, reference and hands-on
information required to successfully pass the CPT certification and move on to a fulfilling career in fitness. The course provides
the personal trainer with the fundamentals of anatomy, physiology and motor behavior. From these principles, the trainer is guided
though a systematic process, starting with client assessment and followed by the creation of a concise, safe and effective training
program. The course takes the trainer through the step-by-step components of a properly designed fitness program (flexibility,
core stabilization, balance, reactive and strength training, as well as nutrition).

Participants are encouraged to register at least four weeks prior to the workshop to allow for delivery of study materials and
sufficient time to study. Registration requests will not be accepted within 24 hours of workshop. Fee: $389 for TSI staff only.

National Federation of Personal Trainers (NFPT)

NFPT Personal Training Certification
This two-day hands-on workshop will prepare you to sit for the NFPT certification exam. In addition to reviewing NFPT exam
specifications, the first day will cover topics such as basic anatomy, energy production, stretching and injury prevention
and professional ethics. Day two of this workshop will review practical elements of personal training including body composition
and muscle strength assessment, spotting techniques and an active demonstration of the 17 NFPT recommended base
stretches and exercises.

                                                 National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association

                                                 NESTA Personal Trainer Certification Workshop
                                                 This workshop is designed primarily for beginning to intermediate level personal trainers or fitness instructors. The NESTA
                                                 PFT certification is valid for 4 years. The workshop will cover all aspects of training in kinesiology, physiology, functional
                                                 anatomy, and program design with a tremendous detail focus on business skills development and the biomechanical breakdown
                                                 and analysis of most traditional and functional exercise applications in a hands-on format. Workshop instruction and trainer
                                                 preparation is provided by Training Made Fun.

                                                 National Council of Strength and Fitness

                                                 NCSF Personal Trainer Certification
                                                 Upon registration for the National Council on Strength & Fitness (NCSF) Personal Trainer Program each candidate is sent a
                                                 course materials package consisting of the Certified Personal Trainer Course Textbook, Certified Personal Trainer Study Guide
                                                 manual, Certified Personal Trainer Workshop Reference Guide, step-by-step lesson plan, NCSF Concepts of Training CD-ROM
                                                 and the NCSF Personal Training Technique & Assessment DVD Video. These materials systematically teach the course participant
                                                 the science behind sound fitness training and exercise programming. The hands-on workshop component of the program is
                                                 two days of high-energy instruction consisting of interactive lectures, and practical, hands-on training. Taught by master/doctoral
                                                 level NCSF-certified personal trainer instructors, the workshop is used to review and reinforce key course concepts and to
                                                 provide students the opportunity to put theory into practice. Under close supervision from experts in the field, students will:
                                                 review client profiles, make appropriate activity recommendations based on sample client health histories, perform various
                                                 screening and fitness evaluations, learn proper training instruction, skill development and progression, and complete a metabolic
                                                 analysis for weight management considerations.

National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)

NASM Corrective Exercise Continuing Education Course
The Corrective Exercise Training Home Study Series is designed for individuals who are seeking more education on corrective
exercise. This course will improve knowledge of functional anatomy and corrective strategies to help combat imbalances
that may lead to injury. The focus will be on movement assessment, corrective strategies for the foot and ankle, lower back
and shoulder. This packaged program includes:
• Part One: Home Study on-line courses including printable course manual and streaming video and audio demonstration of
  assessment and exercise techniques for the foot and ankle, lower back and shoulder. Online testing will occur at the end
  of each module.
• Part Two: An eight-hour mandatory workshop applying the practical aspects of the principles acquired.
The NASM Corrective Exercise Continuing Education Workshop (CES) is NOT the NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist Program
offered through NASM, but is a TSI-approved specialty program offered to personal trainers for level progression.

NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist
An elite training program for fitness and enhanced athletic performance, the NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist
(NASM-PES) is designed for athletic trainers, chiropractors, physical therapists, coaches and other sports professionals who
want to work with players at all levels, from the secondary education and university tier, to professional and Olympic level athletes.
The PES offers:

Cancer Exercise

Cancer Exercise Specialist Workshop
This two-day course is for all health and fitness professionals who wish to expand their knowledge to include working with
cancer patients and survivors. Candidates will gain a complete understanding of the entire cancer process from diagnosis
and treatment to reconstruction (for breast cancer). Upon completion of the two-day workshop and passing the proctored
exam, candidates will receive a Certificate of Advanced Qualification and be listed on our International Cancer Exercise
Specialist Directory.
Recommended qualifications to participate in the workshop:
• Work related experience in the health and fitness or medical field
• Educational training comparable to an undergraduate degree in health and fitness or a closely related field
• Nationally recognized Personal Training, Group Exercise Instructor or Physical Therapy credentials
• Current CPR certification
Course will consist of the following:
• Exercise implications for over 25 different types of cancer, their surgeries and treatments and breast reconstruction
• Preventing, identifying and managing extremity lymphedema

KettleBell Concepts

KettleBell Concepts Level One
Designed specifically for the fitness professional and enthusiast, this workshop offers multi-tiered programming in kettlebell
training for Performance & Health, Mind/Body practitioners, and Group Fitness instructors.
Participants will:
• Learn kettlebell training from a neurophysiological, biomechanical, kinesiological, and motor learning/control perspective
• Be able to effectively teach the basic/intermediate kettlebell lifts for improved skill acquisition and context-dependant
  functional transfer
• How to safely and progressively program design for maximum gains
Prerequisites:
• Current AED/CPR certification
• Current TSI-approved Personal Training or Group Exercise Certification.
*Please note that kettlebells will not be provided in the workshop. Although a certain number of kettlebells may be available
 onsite, it is strongly recommended that attendees bring or purchase their own. TSI attendees will have the opportunity to
