Member Spotlight—Dr. Anthony Green, AVAS Partners
Dr. Anthony Green works with companies who want to lead their marketplace through an innovative
strategy. His engagements have spanned a variety of industries from technology transfer to healthcare
and from software to wholesale/distribution.
Working with this diverse set of industries has allowed him to confront head‐on the variety of challenges
facing a company’s competitive strategy. It also has meant the scope of his work has ranged from due
diligence on new technologies to redeveloping a firm’s marketing strategy and from financial
reorganization to startup development.
Dr. Green began his career as a chemist, having earned a Bachelors of Science from Michigan State
University then attending The University of Chicago for a PhD in chemistry. While at the University of
Chicago, he split his time between the lab and the Booth School of Business, developing a knowledge base
focusing on evaluation and commercializing new innovations.
AVAS Partners, in partnership with Tunc Kip at K.I.P. Consulting, is hosting a monthly Executive Education Series beginning on
Wednesday, April 18th at City Club of Buckhead, to help executives learn new strategic management skills and refresh those skills
which have become rusty. Executives will review material relating to new research as well as material which they may not have seen
since business school.
The series covers topics including 6Sigma Process Improvement, Core Management Competencies, and Leadership and Group
Performance. Focus of the topics and subsequent discussions are targeted to individuals in an executive position where strategic
implications are often more important than tactical details.

A L ETTER FROM O UR G ENERAL M ANAGER ...
Spring has sprung and we avoided a real winter almost entirely! As you can see from this newsletter, we
are continuing to pack the month filled with a range of social, business, and networking events, not to
mention the value priced a la carte options every night throughout the month. If you haven't attended any
events yet, you will not be disappointed with the friendships and business connections that you will
undoubtedly make.
As the club continues to get busier, I wanted to address a few housekeeping items. You all know by now
that we want nothing more than to take care of each and every one of you every time you come into your
club, but we also need to always do what's best for the entire membership. With that in mind, please
remember that if you would like to secure a private room more than 24 hours in advance, there will be
food & beverage minimums associated with this request. If you like to live on the edge, roll the dice and
hope that there is a room available when you come in that day to avoid the minimums, then we will try to
accommodate you as much as we can. Secondly, I realize some of you do not understand why we charge for A/V usage and
equipment, so I am happy to explain. Every time someone decides to take one of our cables home or damage those cables, we
have to buy new ones. Every time repairs need to be made to screens, projectors, TV's, wall panels, etc., we have to pay for
these repairs. We have already had to replace one of our LCD projectors, and they are not inexpensive. If you need to use our
equipment, then we ask you to pay a very reasonable charge for that use. Also, we ask you not to try to setup the equipment
yourself. The staff is here to serve you, please allow them to set up the equipment correctly which will prevent future damage.
Thank you for your continued patience during the building construction and renovation. I realize it is a mess right now, but you
will start to see signs of major improvements in the next couple of months and the end result will be an impressive entrance to
the building to further improve your overall experience when coming to the club. Thank you for your continued support and I
hope to see you and your families here for Easter and through the month of April!
