Sketchup + Artlantis course
About Sketchup
SketchUp is an amazing tool that allows you to create 3D models in the simplest and quickest way ever. With SketchUp you can build your ideas, investigate different options, prepare different kinds of presentation, rendering animations to show how great your projects can look like. With a simple interface, SketchUp is made to be more flexible, intuitive and much easier than any other 3D CAD programs. You can still continue to use your favourite software; SketchUp Pro imports and exports DWG and DWF, exports to 3D Max (3DS), Artlantis, Archicad, and many others.

About Artlantis
Artlantis is the fastest stand-alone rendering application developed especially for architects and designers, ideal for quickly and easily creating high resolution 3D renderings, QuickTime VR Panoramas and Objects. A recognized leader in preview window technology, Artlantis is the rendering software used by architects, designers and urban design professionals in more than 80 countries. Interface - Artlantis is designed based on the original concept of preview window interactivity, with user-defined settings and modifications. The final rendering is consistent with the 3D preview window, giving you an accurate representation of the high-quality images you’ll produce from your 3D models. The preview image is refreshed each time a change is made to the lighting, cameras or environment settings, enabling you to control all adjustments without losing time. Shaders & Textures - Atlantis makes using shaders simple and instantaneous. You can instantly dress a material with all attributes of a given shader (tint, color, opacity, specular reflection, shininess, blur effect, normal mapping, pattern scale and orientation...) by simply dragging the shader of your choice from the catalog and dropping it to the desired surface in the scene. Heliodon - By simply using a heliodon and a lighted sky, you can immediately illuminate your exterior and interior scenes without having to go through the long preparation needed for multiple artificial lights. Calculation of the radiation dispersion and colored bounce immediately creates a brilliantly realistic lighting model. With the addition of a "physical sky," the sun, moon and stars are now visible elements that cast light onto the project using global illumination. A range of magnificent clouds are also available: cirrus, cumulonimbus or stratus add an extra realistic touch to the skies. for more information about Artlantis go to www.artlantis.com
Where can you use it?
Architecture - You can do much more than just drawing buildings with this interactive 3D modeller. SketchUp allows you to take your project apart, spin it around, take a walk inside, cut live sections and render instant animations. You must try it! Landscape - SketchUp includes Sandbox; a unique set of tools to work with terrain information, allowing you to create smooth terrain from imported contour lines. You can also use Sandbox to alter the form of your terrain by creating berms, hills, ridges and valleys, and to add roads, paths, building pads and more. Urban Planners - Planners and urban designers use SketchUp because it's fast and intuitive. From simple massing studies to fully-articulated buildings and outdoor spaces. Interior Design - Interior designers and architects have been using SketchUp to develop all types of ambiances. Use real objects and textures to create and visualize your ideas and prepare professional presentations to your clients.

Sketchup + Artlantis course
The Course
With a simple interface, SketchUp and Artlantis are made to be more flexible, intuitive and much easier than any other 3D CAD and Rendering programs. Artlantis is the perfect software for SketchUp users, allowing them to present their projects using 3D photo realistic renderings. Artlantis enables you to improve and bring realism to your SketchUp Pro models with 3D objects and textures. Texture your models with high-resolution shaders to obtain a very realistic effect, then set your scene with as many light sources as you’d like. These two programs will work for you in a complementary way, helping you to complete even the most ambitious projects, and giving your presentations the look you want.

Benefits
Practical exercises (6 exercises in-total) will give the confidence attendees need to develop professional projects. Small groups allow for a better interaction between lecturer and attendees. Each attendee will receive a CD with over 3000 components to be used in models (including furniture, cars and trees) and over 2500 textures, such as wood floors, grass, roofs, etc. that can be used to render a more realistic model. Tutor with over four years experience on teaching Sketchup.
You will learn how to:
! Build your 3D model from scratch or importing drawings from other CAD programs. ! Add real Textures to your models. ! Set the real location and North to study sunlight incidence in your building. ! Export your models, plans and sections to Artlantis. ! Apply special properties to materials, like shininess, reflection, transparency, etc. ! Add lighting. ! Do photorealistic renders, Panoramas, VR objects and Sketchup Animations. ! Export your models, plans and sections to other CAD programs. The programme is split in six days throughout two weeks, allowing time for delegates to do exercises at home in between lectures.
Investment
The Sketchup and Artlantis course fee is £500 + VAT.
Venue
Lectures are delivered in central London (5 min from Tower Bridge), with easy access to transport links. Courses are also available In-house. Contact us and we’ll tailor a programme specific to your needs.
